Noticing the NCAA propaganda spot featuring The Big Aristotle waxing Philosophical about.... whatever.

At the end it shows his credentials as BA, MA, and EdD.

I know Shaq Graduated from LSU and for that he is to be applauded.

The Masters and Doctorate However. Honorary right?

Or did I miss something?

He earned it. He went back to school and he said he didn't want any honorary. Guy didn't have to do that but he did.

Shaq has really done it all and I admire he's always taking on new adventures in life.. He was an officer or deputy at one point as well.

Master's is from University of Phoenix and Doctorate is from Barry University

They aren't honorary, but they are both from "diploma mills." Shaq didn't even do a dissertation for the doctorate, but an oral presentation on humor in leadership or some garbage. I don't mean to disparage the effort, but it's not as impressive as it sounds.

He's a busy and famous dude. He can't really schlep around a college campus everyday anymore.

You missed a shite ton (including a shite ton of threads posted on the rant about Shaq's bonafides over the decades). Frankly, you need to edit your post and engage in a big mea culpa at this point to save face.

Or as my aunties would say, bless your heart.

I wouldn't expect him to, but I think it's unfair to people with doctorates who devote their entire lives to their research to equate Shaq's Ed.D to theirs. I'm proud of Shaq, but let's just put it in perspective.

Like he is worth almost half billion and has done really well. I remember the West Coast Customs when they did the Jeep for Shaq. They revamped it so he could drive and stretch out. They showed all the cars that they had done for him like 30 or so. Showed his house in Florida and his office.

Who is? It's not like he's publishing his work in journals over theirs.

And a lot of those people with doctorates who have devoted their entire lives to research have done nothing but draw a check from a university and provided nothing to society. For every study that provides something meaningful, there are 100 more that are complete bs.

An Ed.D. degree is not really comparable to a Ph.D. The former is not primarily a research degree. Most who seek the Ed.D are in education administration. Nobody compares the two degrees and no one sees them as equivalent. They are different degrees with different purposes. There is certainly no need to denigrate someone who holds a Ed.D. One just needs to understand what each degree represents.
