Name them. Then look at how many passes their receivers drop. Then look at the defenses they're playing.

Most quarterbacks not named Tebow or Newton would be struggling with the line and receiver play Mett is saddled with.

He's not been perfect, but he's not the problem.

SO what is our excuse from years past? Our O line was solid last year and Bama beat us like a drum. Wake up.....it's Miles

JLee made huge strides last season under kragthorpes watch and I don't think JJ ever truly had the talent to be a top tier quarterback in the SEC. Ryan Perriloux set us back a many a year when he was dismissed.

There are a lot of things we can blame miles for but I think he has made drastic improvements to our quarterback situation with Mett and Rivers. The only fault I place on him in regards to Mett is not getting him more snaps last year during the numerous arse beatings we leveled upon our opponents.

Mett isn't the problem, the ol is beat up and our wrs have dropped a number of very good passes.

Mett comp % would be near 70% without the drops.

Those hatin' on Mett at this point are just fools. He's got the talent, just needs experience, some help at the O line and some guys to hold on to the ball. Maybe then he can find his rhythm. With that comes confidence.

JJ27 that is what many don't understand, Bert Jones was just like Mett, foot work and throwing his so year at LSU.

Bert doesn't become a legend until late his Jr year and he was still learning how to make the good throws when he left LSU.

Mett is the same type of player, great talent just needs time.

I think it's a damn good question. LSU has not had a "good" QB since Tommy Hodson. You would think that would be the #1 priority in recruiting. I agree with Muffberger.

Musberger has a point. You would think a program like LSU could find a guy who was at least average - say, as good as the guy at North Carolina...

Maybe it is coaching, I don't know.

But LSU QB's don't impress.

Mett has played pretty good or a first year starter in the hardest division in CFB. He has a rebuilt oline and a corp of receivers that can't move the sticks. Anyone whom actually knows football and watches the game can tell its not Mett's fault.

YOu are right. it isn't Mett's fault. A little blocking and a few guys who could catch would certainly change things.

But LSU QB's do not produce. Perhaps it is O-line and WR's. I don't know. But what we all know is that LSU's passing game has been REALLY bad and continues to be bad.

It stems from 2 glaring weaknesses. Oline injuries and wr corp whom has the drops. Before we lost Faulk ( guy we've run behind for two years) our offense was humming.

I know LSU qbs under Miles haven't been great, but he's only had 5 of them and JR and Flynn were good and JJ was avg at his best and dismal at his worst, JLee was far to inconsistent( I will always wonder what could've been with JLee had we ha an actual qb coach for his entire tenure he made great strides with just one year under Krags. I had a friend on the team back when Crowton was there and he said Crowton hardly ever tried to correct Lee's weaknesses)

Mett is starting his 7th game as a D1 Qb, against SEC defenses, behind an O-line that resembles a subway turnstile, with recievers who drop every 3rd ball you throw at them......I think you guys need to cut Mett some slack....

And before this season started, everyone was envisioning LSU playing for the NC, and pretty much everyone I know figured Mett would have lit it up and would be jumping to the NFL after one season with us. He is now certainly assured to be back for his senior season. Which is going to be a huge plus for us..
