Good Qb's don't want to go to LSU. because we run 65%. LSU hasn't put out a succesful pro QB since

It's a legitimate question. For an elite program, LSU has been mediocre at best at the QB position.

do receivers drop balls because the playcalling is bad?

Has nothing to do with play call. If the ball hits your hands, or is within 3 yards, then you should catch the damn ball.

If anybody thinks Jamarcus Russell was not a "good" quarterback while at LSU they need to get on some meds.

He was certainly among the most talented and pretty good.

The drops and penalties put our offense in situations for terrible play calling. When you are sitting at 3rd and 8-15 yrds for most of the game, there is only so much you can do from a power I formation.

we're not talking about good college QB's. USC gets better QB's because they' had a butt load of pretty good PRO qb's

We're DLine U because we've put out 10-12 starting DLmen in the PROS past 10 years.

Last LSU good starting QB in the pro's Bert Jones

This.

And they were giving props to LSU.

Saying how unbeatable they would be if they had a true star at QB...not just some game manager...but a guy who can make plays even if his O-line has problems...and a bad LSU O-line issue is still better than tons of schools out there with star QBs who are doing just fine.

I just had a really bad flashback. Not sure if it was to a MASH episode or being treated in the Halls of Medicine at LSU.

This is awesome that it's being talked about on tv. Still, I know with 100% certainty that Mett is going to be spectacular. Soon.

He should have said if LSU could get an OC

I wish poster's would get over this. It's coon knowledge( to people who know football) that if th players execute, ANY PLAY CAN BE SUCCESSFUL. Before we lost Faulk, te guy we've ran behind for two years) our offense was fine.
Also, our offense last year was damn near lights out( ranked #2 in OFFENSIVE TDS ONLY in LSU history). Did Stud forget how to call plays?

Mett has played pretty good or a first year starter in the hardest division in CFB. He has a rebuilt oline and a corp of receivers that can't move the sticks. Anyone whom actually knows football and watches the game can tell its not Mett's fault.

Mett is a first year starter in an under talented offense that has been decimated by injuries. I find it hard to place much blame on him.

He's certainly made mistakes but for the most part he's played well

Most LSU fans can only watch the ball. They're morons.

Metts arm is awesome, no doubt, the kid can throw.

But he can't pick up a corner blitz to save his life. He miss handles snaps and doesn't protect the ball. The guy has talent and can be great, but he has some work to do.

He has his problems no doubt but they are coachable problems. His weaknesses stem from inexperience and that's expected but should be fixed before his tenure here is up. However, if we can't teach him to pick up a blitz then I'm not sure that we'll ever produce a great quarterback with this staff.
