Said Redding, "I don't doubt the official saw what he saw. We didn't see the player pulling himself away from his teammates and going towards the stands in a form of self-congratulation."
This doesn't make any sense then.
For the record, I think it was a crappy call, either way, but calling it a "mistake" two days later, and saying "but we don't exactly know what the official saw" seems to be an infinitely crappier precendent.
Terrible.

What about the safety, the bad spot on 4th down in the first half, the official stalling the play so Georgia sniffed out the fake FG. The officiating in this game was bad but to just single out one play is a bunch of crap.

my favorite thing about this thread is that people are talking shite about uga when these are the SEC officials talking about the mistake.
Im talking shite about the UGA reporter that just happens to place LSU at the UGA 38 yard line as a result of two penalties and leaves out some VERY VERY important info.. But like I said we all know Green would have caught a 60 yard TD pass without that 42 yard reception UGA had before that since 40 yard plays are simply nothing..

We should do the honorable thing and forfeit.

Sad sack homer bullshite from the Atl Jrnl Constipation.
You know what really "heavily impacted the game's outcome" ? us getting in the red zone 4 freaking times and coming away with only 6 points.

well the SEC officials said it was a bad call so that means that people from georgia told them to do that. blatantly UGA's fault for the officials coming out with this.
and no, i don't know why the scott penalty isn't being apologized for as well. equally bad.

What I saw was Scott stopped after his 33 yd run because he crossed the end zone. He would have run 48 yds if the endzone had been 15 yds further away because there was NO ONE in front of him. i.e. Scott scores on that play with or without the 15 yd penalty.

It was a terrible call, but it didn't cost them the game..
that is why we are ticked.. they think they were robbed....
We feel we beat them fairly and convincingly

So what is wrong with saying Georgia fans are being stupid for leaving out the FACT that LSU got to the UGA 38 yard line as a result of a FORTY YARD RETURN not because of two penalties alone. Are there Georgia fans scratching their heads trying to figure out why they didnt start on the LSU 43 yard line? Since apparently a 15 yard penatly just gives you the ball right there.. But UGA started on the LSU 33 yard line.. How can this be????

With maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, that's not really what anyone's doing.

Without the celebration penalty on Green, Scott's TD run would've been 48 yards, not 33.
You're assuming everything that happened following the kickoff would have unfolded exactly the same way if there had been no penalty. You can't assume that.
My roommate was in an accident Saturday that occurred because of many little things that transpired before it that morning. Had any of a dozen or more things changed, it wouldn't have happened -- at least not the way it did.
It's entirely possible LSU would have scored anyway, but to simplify it by saying you can just add 15 yards to Scott's run is to fail to realize how the time/space continuum is altered by everything that happens before each event.

Dude, freaking "GET OVER IT!!!!!!" The refs did not cost us that game. Les Miles did. He played conservative all game and let Auburn stay within reach. LSU could've easily put them away but they didn't. Stop "BLAMING" the damn refs.
