SEC could solve this easily

Mandate that no team can be eligible for SEC championship if they don't play full SEC schedule. Both AD's would be busting it to get game played then. Sure LSU would most likely get screwed and have to play the game on 11/19 but screw it. Nothing to lose by playing the game. Lets get back to that anyone, anywhere mentality.

You don't think everyone is busting right now to get it played?

Florida has zero incentive to play the game. They can backdoor into the SEC championship game by avoiding our game.

You don't need that rule. You just need a commissioner with a backbone.

Agree but that time has passed. He needed to have backbone last week when it mattered. I'm ready to make it 4 straight against the Gators.

Is South Alabama in November paying your bills?

A game that doesn't matter versus a game that could possibly put you in the SEC championship game.

How much does the AD give back to the university?
So yes, South Alabama absolutely helps pay the bills.

What revenue gain exactly IF, and that's a huge gamble that only a financially irresponsible fool would take, we make the SECCG and find our way into the playoffs?
Furthermore, I think that playing UF on that date would actually negatively impact our chances. That would be one of the hardest stretches in CFB that I've seen.

Kinda hard to set rules like that in the middle of the season, no?

Or they could have stepped in early last week instead of letting UF run with this shite show.
Or they could move the SECCG back a week and let UForfeit-LSU play then.
Or they could issue UForfeit what it deserves: a loss.
Or they could mandate that only division records will count this season.
They could have done a lot of shite, but they showed an absolute lack of leadership and let UF hold all the cards. Alleva was smart to come out and publicly say we aren't moving any home games from Baton Rouge. The time for reasonable accommodation was last week, and only one of the three parties involved was willing to do anything to play.
Alleva basically said, "No thanks" and punted this shite can back to UF and the SEC. Brilliant -- and I have never once said that about Alleva.

That works if you're Fresno State or Boise State and your home games don't product a gazillion dollars every week (in fact, some of these "mid-majors" might make more on the road than at home); however, LSU and Florida (among many others) make too much money on home games to arbitrarily give them up. If circumstances dictate your home stadium is unavailable (i.e. LSU 2005, USCw 2015 and UF 2016) then you just have to live with it.

Yea not a good idea at all. I don't feel like explaining how that is just dumb dumb dumb.Ill say this though... Alleva finally showed some sack today and it would be worse for us to backtrack from here. Our position is clear and its up to the league office and those pussies in Gainesville to correct their mistake

LSU simply cannot be made to miss a home game. JA, god bless him, knows this or is saying he knows this.
Move the cocktail party up a week, let LSU play UF on the 29th at UF. Everyone keeps all of their games. Everyone has to sacrafice a bit.
