1. It is against the rules for them to sign as an UDFA before the draft is over.
2. Even if they did sign or orallly agreed to terms before the draft is over, if they wind up getting drafted by anyone, the UDFA agreement would be null & void.
So that would be a pretty stupid "preying on" strategy by the teams.
I don't have any sympathy for Shep anymore after all his antics. If he was half as good as the Rantards think he is, he would have seen the field more. He can't catch, can't break tackles, and runs a 4.5.

I wonder if Shepard understands that while he signed a 3 year deal, it's non-guaranteed contract and he can very easily be cut during mini-camp without being owed any money.

But I don't see a need to rip him to shreds.
I don't really get why people seem to love bashing him. It is clear that many LSU fans in here would love to see him fail and indeed are rooting for it.
He commented once that he liked A&M's offense. So what?
He made a vague reference once or twice about being misused. So what?
He made a comment about how he thinks he can play in the NFL. So what?
Now this draft thing was a silly thing to say. But in the grand scheme of things, his transgressions seem slight. So much hate for so little.
But I don't see a need to rip him to shreds.

I honestly don't know how anyone could hate Shep, but there are a handful here that do. I mean every Shep thread, there they are bashing him for anything they can possibly find.
