For some reason people don't like dealing with reality when it comes to Shep. If Michael Ford said all this same stuff he would sound just as ridiculous and get the same reaction.

Nothing vague about saying:

"I took myself off the draft board"

and

"I told teams not to draft me because I already had a deal in place"

And people wonder why Shep didn't play QB at LSU. Maybe he didn't have what it takes between his ears. That's saying a lot considering JJ did.

1. if anything shep gets more excuses than anyone I can remember for his lack of production, so you're full of shite.
2. I never had a problem with his lack of meeting expectations because it happens.....but he started to aggravate me when he began pouting and making excuses. He's not a bad kid at all, but he really needs to learn to just shut the hell up.

He did much better his first two years before his role was redefined. He's a very good athlete with marginal football talent.

My problem isn't with people who think Shep is overrated. It's the two or three that find every opportunity to bash him. Same people in every thread. Shep is some kind of bat signal.

yes, but it's also a signal for the "if it weren't for Les Shep would have been in New York for the Heisman ceremony" crowd...

This is, for a fact, a reason why some on here bash him at every opportunity. They have developed a kneejerk reaction against him because he has been used as a point man in the criticism of our offense and by extension the criticism of Les. Moreover, it fuels their desire for him to fail in the NFL. Their desire is for him to have no success so they can use it as ammo to defend Les against those who use Shepard as a point of criticism. For those of you in which this is the case, Shepard really has nothing to do with this so don't react against him because some are using his non-performance as a reason to criticize our offense/Les. Our offense has been an abomination. Jacob Hester and Charles Scott tweeted how our offense sucked.

I'm not trying to be an arse...I honestly want to know because perhaps I missed it. When did Shepard pout or make excuses?

From my point of view, he has a lot to bitch about but I never really heard him do so. The only thing I really remember is him saying it was difficult for him to learn the system as a freshman and sophomore because he was going to multiple meetings all the time. He would learn RB plays, QB plays, WR plays, sit in on RB meetings, QB meetings, WR meetings, and it was somewhat overwhelming.

He violated ncaa rules by not keeping his mouth shut in 2011.

Which is a really pathetic measuring stick to criticize the program.

He might have said that once. But he also said something along the lines of "A&M looking good for the next few years. Texas guys coming up should look into going there." That was right after the season ended. I'll try and find it.

Edit: Found it. This was 4 days after his last game as a Tiger, and 2 days after he wrote that one day he'd write a book about his time at LSU and call it "The Truth". His enthusiasm turned into bitterness.

Haha this is the biggest bs ive ever heard. No one wants him to fail. They just know hes not going to do much in the nfl. He cant catch, hes not very big or very fast.

Shep wants to play in the nfl. The coaches gave him the best opportunity. He was just our 4th or 5th best wr. Plain and simple. He was never going to play qb. Claiborne, ware, magee, and randke were better hs qbs.

Never met. anyone like that. He didn't do anything to warrant the hate. I'd be disappointed too if I were him. Good rep for LSU, just never met expectations
