go watch special teams from 2010-2013 (most notably 2011) and watch the difference in the coveraged and bumping of gunners of the other team and the gunners for LSU getting bumped out of the play.

it's night and day. Peveto is just not a good fundamentals coach so it seems.

there's no way he's teaching Tre White to field punts on the 1 yard line and the 3.

That's why both do such a tremendous job with kickers and 4-5 star tight ends over the past couple years!!!
Man o man we are lightning it up with these 4-5 star tight ends in the nfl
Man o man these kickers that can kick it out of the stadium are forced to directional kick for high return average and sky kick..
Man I man this punters standard deviation on punts in worst in ncaa
One for 55 one for 25 one for 35 one for 40 . And they return the punts to boot. So no I think YOU don't know what you are talking about for these two clowns job descriptions.
Ps see how many times Ensminger has been demoted at auburn or his completion percentage at LSU - both suck!!!

He looks about 10 years younger in that picture than he does in real life

Can't let Peveto go until after Franks signs on the dotted line IMO.

McGaughy had the best ST play I think I've ever seen. And it was not because of the athletes. We've got as good as, if not better, athletes now.

It's really a sad thing to see how far ST has fallen.

I'd give up Franks to get rid of Peveto. That's a net positive any way you slice it.

Allowing 23 yards per punt return, obvious,y worst in conference; and nobody has even taken one to the house on us

It's going to happen soon enough. It used to be that you could expect at least one shank a game, but the rest of the punts would be pretty good. Now we're seeing one shank AND 50 yard punts with 2.0 seconds of hang time.

Not as terrible kickoff return stats against us but still near bottom of conference, time to put Gamble out there to kick it through the endzone at least.

I have no idea why LSU gives out scholarships to place kickers. Josh Jasper was the last scholarship kicker to be LSU's primary place kicker. He was signed in '07. Since then LSU has signed several kickers, none of which have had any impact. They've had good success with walk-on's. Why waste the scholarship?

Still, part of me thinks that LSU doesn't want touchbacks. Maybe it's just me, be it seems like the objective on kickoffs is to make the return man field the ball in the corner of the field somewhere inside the 5. Maybe LSU feels they have good enough ST to keep the returner from reaching the 20? Seems like an unnecessary risk to me.

Did anyone watch the 1st extra point of the game? LSU lined up #44 on the left side of the blocking formation and on the snap of the ball had him immediately "pull" all the way to the opposite side to block a would be rusher. Maybe it was a mistake on #44's part, but I don't think I've ever seen that happen. Are they trying to set up a fake later on? Seems like you're playing with fire by making a guy come all the way across the field to block a rusher.

I made a note of that. That play had "hit your own player in the back" written all over it.

Way too dangerous for whatever is going on there... that's a live ball if it shanks off him I'm pretty sure.

Without a doubt the kicker was purposely trying to not kick it out of the end zone against Syracuse. You could tell on the kickoffs when the camera was on him

First off the Keehn is 9th in punting in the SEC with 14 teams, just ahead of JK Scott who is 10th in punting. Last year Scott was an AA punter and Keehn was 2nd team All SEC behind Scott. I'm not worried.... yet.

I honestly can't think of a single coach who was fired then hired again by the same university a few years later...

Pevetp is the worst coach on the team. Why he was allowed to come back is beyond me.

Miles makes great hires and also horrible hires. The horrible hires are guys that normally get out of football. Anyone remember " the professor" at okie state.. He made Lou teppner look like an assistant coach of the year. Miles was targeting him when pellini left. Miles would not be the coach today at LSU if Chavis was not hired and " the professor " hired from okie state. peveto and ensminger are not good position coaches . If LSU HAS to keep them give them an office job and go find two other guys that can coach these positions. By the way don't increase my ticket prices to budget these two clowns into the football budget!!

I'm not crazy about his X's and O's either, but he is outstanding in recruiting. I'd rather give up Ensminger as TE coach. Give Bradley that title and get a full time STs coach. Bradley helps with the LBs anyway and let Grimes or Ball or both actually coach the TEs. LSU already has the obligatory LSU "guy" in Raymond on staff and he is a very good coach and recruiter.

Our coverage hasn't been great, but I think the bigger issue is that other team's returners are fielding the ball while our coverage guys are still half the length of the field away.

Our punting has been ridiculously bad.

Keene has been flat out terrible. It's so bad, that he should be on a very short leash.

BDP is an X's & O's cancer to LSU. Before he took over ST's, that unit was considered a weapon. If he's as valuable a recruiter as claimed, apparently he can't recruit ST specialist, find him an "non-coaching" recruiting position, a nice office with a view, & keep him the hell away from the X's & O's of this program.
