And we win out the rest of the season . Would a loss of that magnitude keep a team like LSU out of the playoffs? Total hypothetical situation of course.

No, because we would have gone undefeated through the toughest conference in the nation.

The only way we, or any team in such a situation from the SEC, would be left out is if there are four undefeated Power 5 teams.

Do you really think that an undefeated SEC champion would not make the playoffs?

Actually I don't know the answer. the loss would be of epic proportions . But winning out in the SEC and winning the SEC championship should nullify that loss.

App State was also a FCS Powerhouse. We aren't playing NDSU

1) See: Ohio State-Virginia Tech

2) There is literally no chance that an FBS team could lose to McNeese State and run the table the rest of the way. See Michigan-Appalachain State, Florida-Georgia Southern... it is a sign of terrible days to come.

How did you come up with that?
McNeese beat App State 40-35 in 2009, App State finished 11-3 that year.

Hypotheticals irritate me. They are fruitless exercises. This is especially true when the premise of the hypothetical is extraordinarily unlikely.
