I don't see that happening. Bama will most likely represent the West, the national sports media would never come to LSU's defense.

The playoff committee should give the SEC office the middle finger and put LSU at #4 and Bama at #5 in the final playoff rankings. That's if Bama wins the SEC Championship and LSU is their only loss.

I've thought about a scenario where A&M and LSU win out and LSU humiliates the Aggies like Louiville did FSU.
Aggies go to Atlanta would look pretty silly.

That would assume Alabama or Texas A&M win the remaining of their games other than vs LSU. I don't see it

Yes since Bama would've backed into the game because LSU couldn't play the same amount of conference games through no fault of their own.

Seems like a simple, but slippery solution, is to have divisions decide by divisional records (an exception for this year only). That would keep Tennessee and LSU still in the race throughout the year.
