And, on the Miles vs Crowton "Battle of Wills" scenario. Remember, LM is engrained in that Michigan-Big10-Bo Schembechler-Conservative" background, which is the antithesis of the current SEC.........

agreed...but what the hell is the point of having Crowton if all we are going to do is run Miles O first and mix in some Crowton?

Is Crowton just a recruiting tool?

yeah, it would be nice if Miles took a chance and gambled once in a while.

Nuts! Much as I get frustrated with this season's level of play, if a winning season is not enough for a coach to keep his job here, LSU is going to fall into the bad old days of Stovall/Archer/Hallman coaching instability. This is not going to make the Tigers a better team. Sometimes the AD expressing what needs doing to the coach can do more than all the Rant speculation in the world. Hopefully LSU's AD will be man enough to reason with both Miles and Crowton on this.

until JJ learns to throw the deep ball, we're going to be very limited on offense. He's as bad a freshman at throwing the deep ball that we've had in a very long time.

are you kidding? all lsu should hope for is a winning record? wtf? why would you accept mediocrity like that? 7-5/8-4 gets miles one more year to turn it around. I hate that because I want kelly from cincy but truthfully he should get one more year if he does that. 6-6 and he should be gone.

To be fair to Crowton he did have to quickly get Lee ready for a RS fresh season after the Perriloux fiasco. But with that said it is the cooordinator who is in charge of developing his QB. Lee was good but had a lot of deficiencies with his p-6's. Now he's had Jefferson for an entire spring and what JJ did in the bowl game was very good with a month to get ready for that. So is JJ progressing now that we have seen him for 3 games or has Crowton not been able to get the most from him yet? I'll keep the faith but the meat of the schedule is around the corner.

Clueless geeks are all a like. Over on the USC boards, they want to fire their new OC after two games.

When the only thing wrong with USC's offense is the lack of a good QB. If they had Sanchez, they would probably be #1 in the nation, and eveyone of them would be saying Carroll is a genius along with the new OC.

Sometings never change--immature college geeks, don't you love'm

What is the point of hiring a quality coaching staff if you are not going to give them a change to coach?

Criticizing a coaching staff because they can't get our young and inexperienced QBs to play like experienced upper classmen is the norm for the RANT.

I just to hear what others are thinking.

That is ridiculous to suggest that the coach with the highest winning percentage in LSU history, who is 3-0 so far this year, and is only one of three coaches at LSU who have won a NC. And, Crowton coached the offense to that NC.

AND YOU WANT TO FIRE HIM or Crowton?

I have every reason to say you are a dumb-arse, stupid, idiotic, and just plain don't know WTF you talking about.

What's more, you are not an LSU fan, but a seminar-poster who is a BAMA fan.

Go back to your pussy boards that kick off anyone who is not a Bama fan...

All you want to do is flame and incite LSU fans against our coaches so that Bama will be tops in the SEC West....

Well, you are not going to get your way...LSU is going to whip Bama's arse in Tuscaloosa.

8-4 was my pre-season prediction. I am OK with that! It sucks though b/c this is a down year for college football and we don't have the OL/DL to compete for all of the marbles. Next year looks way better despite having a really tough schedule!

obviously a coach can't be conservative if he runs a trick play every now and then or goes for it on 4th and 1. Forget all those runs right up the middle over and over for 0 yards, we ran a trick play last year!!!!!!!!!!!

Until JJ proves he can trow a deep ball, we're going to be very limited on offense. JJ was lucky not to have 3 picks last night. Coaches are doing the right thing by bringing him along slowly. When we have a seasoned QB that can make all of the throws, Miles/Crowton have shown plenty of creativity.

He is this year, and much of last year. Hard not to be when you're trying to bring along young QB's. Still, I can't understand why we don't run more sweeps. I agree with you that Miles runs up the middle too often when it's clear that it's not working.
