If you bet on whether or not a QB will throw for over/under 200 yards, you could argue you're betting on football. It's a prop bet.

You are missing the point. You can call it whatever you want to call it...but that activity is a red flag for the NFL.

The NFL has to listen to what he is saying and combine that with what they are seeing. If they are seeing a guy who was CLEARLY not making plays that they have seen him make on other occasions, they are going to ask the question. And, when the answer is "Well, I just didn't try in those small games...and oh by the way, me and Mingo were constantly making bets throughout the season..." the NFL is going to pay attention to that.

The fact is that Montgomery has said more than one thing this offseason that has hurt his stock. That in itself shows a severe lack of good judgement.

Not suprising that he would drop. He is undersized at his position and too slow to be a 3-4 OLB. By his own admission he has a shitty work ethic and judging from the few interviews I have seen with him he seems immature.

This is exactly why mock drafts don't mean a damn. Someone will take a chance on his so call "character issues" and draft him before the third. He's a well spoken gentleman with loads of charisma and talent.

So his betting on football with Mingo drops him all the way to the third round, but doesn't drop Mingo? Makes sense.

Well said.

Not a chance. Late first, early second according to most credible observers.

But it's the Rant and that makes too much sense, so that's not true.

You can't take plays off and expect to be a high draft pick.

FIFY

Montgomery's play fell off considerably last year. Everyone saw it. Now, we know why. He didn't put out full effort. After the Alabama game, I think that attitude spread through the team and is why so many went pro. But, they all cost themselves a lot of money.

Always finish strong, no matter what.

So the saints get Mingo in the first, sam in the third, and tm7 I'm the 4/5th. I like.

Why not add Bennie Logan in the 2nd too?

ETA: I guess they would have to trade to get a 2nd round pick.
