Another meaningless statistic: Over the last 20 years, the road team in this series has a 14-6 record.

These stats tell me that we could either win or lose.

Thanks.

I actually think this could be a telling statistic but we would have to possess far more information to make a case. For example, it would be pertinent to know who these Saban coached teams played following the bye week and how many times were the favorite or underdog. There would be other variables to consider but who the hell wants to make such an effort?

It could be a case of Saban over preparing his teams when he has an additional week and having them respond poorly.

Reported on the Round Table this morning, Saban is 11-10 after a bye week. (career record)

Reminds me of a investment commercial's disclaimer:

irrelevant statistics are fun

a great coach having a horrible track record after bye weeks in irrelevant? He's barely a .500 coach after bye weeks with most of those wins being near losses, wins over putrid teams or both.

In another missed, but ultimately important stat, Saban is 8-3 after a hemorrhoidal flare-up and he gets the red-arse.

Quck!! Somebody check the supply of Preperation H near Saban's house! If it's low, we're doomed!!!

Is this really going to have a bearing on the game whatsoever?

It may. Some coaches are very good coming off a bye week. I know Urban Meyer has never lost coming off a bye (at least at Florida).

Andy Reid in the NFL is like 11-1 coming off a bye week.

Somebody needs to "kneecap" that outstanding QB of bama's, as we keep hearing he has never lost a game as the starting QB......we are doomed

I read a stat recently that said Saban has never won a game in which the other team scored more points than his.

Saban was 1-1 after a BYE week w/ Miami... so BAMA has a 50/50 shot of beating us.

Regardless of his bye week record, I would not bet against a Bama team with a wicked pass rush and two weeks to prepare for an LSU team that cannot run the ball. I hope JJ has a new and improved helmet strap. Dude is gonna need it.

That said, if JJ plays like he did against Auburn and Georgia Tech, LSU might surprise the elephants.
