People thought Bama > OKie State when OSU was undefeated.
Yet, if OSU finished the season undefeated, they would be in New Orleans playing for the national title. And no one would even think twice about Alabama being left out, despite that most would still view Bama as the better team.
In such a scenario, the two "best" teams wouldn't be playing for the title, but the two most deserving. Yet, ESPN talking heads would be telling you the system "got it right". And the public would be concordant in their agreement, because they like to have their beliefs spoon fed to them.

Hey it was freaking coach on ESPN running his mouth talking about it.
We won the SEC and went undefeated! Which until this year has always meant we don't play another SEC team during bowl season...
this has never happened in history of CFB! - A rematch for a National Title with in conference let alone divisions rivals.
Sorry for my butt hurt.. But you guys are darn lucky to be in this rematch and any Bama fan saying otherwise is just being an arrogant entitled fan....
Bama has 3 less FBS victories than does LSU...How did you get a rematch? You certainly didn't earn it by beating Georgia southern!

They lost in double overtime on the eve of an Airplane Crash...OSU crushed everyone else all year long
They are conferenc champs, period!
OSU beat 5 ranked teams, Alabama has beaten 2!
Alabama lost at home for goodness sakes...At least OSU was on the road playing in no so great weather

Bama is Bama and that's why there is a rematch. I agree with all your points Apex but am not as upset because the 2nd time around, LSU is going to whip that Bama arse..We are a better football team than on Nov 5 and I am not convinced Bama is any better. LSu also has many things on their side going into Jan 9:

Talk all you want....
I will be crushed if we lose...and if we win, it will pretty sweet. I'd rather play OSU...they are more deserving and I could handle losing to them a lot better than lsoing to Alabama who didn't play their way in...they just sat there at #3 while other teams were on the road being tested
Alabama was at home "taking care of business" against Georgia Southern... that's a fact..
