Yeah. We are 8 months removed from a WR at QB and 35 scholarship player in a bowl game and somehow BK is the problem . LSU fans are ridiculous. I will judge this team and these coaches at the end of the year but nothing I have seen has been unexpected except maybe the special teams. BK has won everywhere he has been and I expect he will make what ever changes are needed when he can make them. The cupboard was not bare when Saban got here. Not nearly what it was when BK got here.

does age and experience gibe you a switch to flip and fix everything?

And I'm not sure why this has to be said, but no one should EVER compare any coach to Saban at Bama. Even BK

Had the momentum of the greatest team of all time been capitalized upon, you would have a point.

Let this give you some perspective, that Championship should have bought O 5 years of goodwill. He fricked the dog so badly that he was fired not even 2 full seasons later. That is how badly he ran our program into the ground. He burned up what should have been 5 years of grace in 18 short months, and what you saw last saturday was more a product of that than anything else.

Fair enough. In Saban’s first year at Bama, they went 7-6, and lost to Louisiana-Monroe.

I’m sorry but Dinardo had brought a bunch of talent to Baton Rouge and we had several stops in the top 10.

He’s the guy that brought us out of the dark ages and I hate revisionist historians denying that.

Brian Kelly is on record saying that LSU football was the worst run organization that he had ever seen. With the exception of Brad Davis and maybe a few others, he fired everybody down to the secretaries. I know people don’t like hearing this, but they are starting from scratch.

Because it’s a rebuild ya jackass… People are trying to compare to Lincoln and USC but what fricking conference do they play in?? One of the top teams in that conference got DEEP THROATED by UGA. It’s not excuses it’s just the reality of the situation. Just because the players and coaches wear LSU on their chest doesn’t mean they are automatically just better than everyone. You have to earn that. God our fan base is full of dumbasses.

Not enough for a full 2nd team on both sides of the ball. Program was left a cesspool by Orgeron who got rewarded with close to $20 Million.

Anyone wanting to "write the story" of the Kelly tenure after 6 games is ridiculous. LSU was picked to finish 5th in the SEC West this year. That they lost to a good Tennessee team SHOULD not be all that surprising.

However, there are valid reasons for questions this season. First and foremost, the offense seems to be getting worse. That's a concern. Yes, the QB is having his issues. But in football it is NEVER the fault of just one guy. LSU's offensive approach has been largely predictable and risk averse. Outside of Daniels, LSU flat out can't run the ball. Of course, some of that is due to a young and frankly (at this point) marginally talented OL. But there has been no adjustment to the approach the running game. Hell, even after 6 games of no production last season Jake Peetz changed his approach. Kelly and Denbrock seem hell-bent they are going to make TEs an integral part of the offense...even though that is far and away the weakest position on the field. Why waste time with two TE sets when you, yourself, have said the TEs can't block. Maybe in the future the TE becomes a big part of the team. But not this year. Overall, though there doesn't seem to be any strong desire to revise what has been an anemic offensive approach. No, LSU isn't going to transform into Tennessee in one week. But clearly what they are doing isn't working

Dude I dont give a d@mn about none of that BS you're talking about. Kelly is not exempt from criticism. Nobody is expecting to be 6-0 right now... but you can't convince me that a 27 point loss at HOME to Tennessee should be understandable. LSU was unprepared, out-coached, and sloppy in every phase Saturday.

LSU also had more than 39 players available for it’s last game in 1999.

In fact, the cupboard was not bare as the Sabanistas would have folks believe. Dinardo was stubborn and had a range of flaws - loyalty to the point of fault among them.

But what he wasn't was a bad football coach. He was an underrated recruiter, as well. The player development trailed off at the end and the last couple of years it just wasn't a sound football team, but he handed Saban a team L-O-A-D-E-D with talent.

Not 1, not 2, but 3 NFL QBs. Damned fine offensive and defensive lines. All-American linebackers (plural). A Biletnikoff WR. A NFL TE. Talented and experienced DBs who would play on Sundays. LSU's career leading punt returner (as well as career kick returner until Trindon Holliday).

So, whatever you want to say about Gerry Dinardo and "the collapse", he definitely brought back "The Magic" after Curley destroyed the program and did about 40% of the turnaround job for which Nick Saban gets 100% of the credit.

Deal with it.

I know, that’s why Riley is more comparable than 2004 Nick Saban. Charles Hanagriff said it on the postgame show, there’s no such thing as a 3 year rebuild anymore with the transfer portal. Big time starters are transferring to other schools. Part of what makes a good coach is masking your deficiencies. You didn’t refute anything I said and actually helped make my point.

Coincidently it was because we had to start a subpar QB at the time….
Exactly why I fully expect us to finish 9-4/8-5. Which is fine.

Do you think that LSU would beat USC right now?

Is that supposed to be a bad thing? He got players elite players out of the portal to improve his team. Since we're comparing Kelly to Saban, that's exactly what Bama did too.

Ok Saban won the SEC in year 2 as well

Let’s not shift the narrative like a hypocrite next year, ok?
