Definitely under utilized......but are they over-rated......I was impressed with what I saw Randle do when he had a chance, but what's happening with Shepherd.......

You weren't impressed with Randle? He will be a star. In his limited role, you can tell he will be really good.

no they are not at all overrated

No way we can say over rated as of now. We have seen flashes of their immense talent, but neither of them has gotten enough reps to judge them.

You will never know, until brain dead miles lets them play!!

I certainly don't think either of these young men are overrated. However, why would any athlete of similar ability want to come to LSU seeing the way Miles is ruining the careers of these two

neither are overrated but really just not given the opportunity yet. The whole world knew what was gonna happen when RS was in there. With RR it was hard to get him the ball when hes 3rd on the wr depth chart and the troubles on offense this year.

Puleease. Ruining their careers? I've heard from more than one source that Shep simply had tremendous difficulty learning and remembering the playbook. We saw signs of that very thing quite a few times on the field. Give the kid time, he'll catch on. It's amazing how some people automatically assume it's the coaches.

They would have played a LOT more under normal coaches/offense...the reason we are losing recruits now, I believe.

If they didn't have any highly touted upperclassmen in front of them.
Ask Xavier Carter and Early Doucet how much they played their freshman year...

You think because as freshmen, they had a limited role, their careers are ruined? First of all, I do agree that Shepard wasn't used well this year, but he does have three years to continue to develop. And your inclusion of Randle is ridiculous. Look at the first half of the season, then the last half. Randle improved quite a bit, and started to become a serious threat by the time we played Ole Miss & Arkansas-- that is the exact opposite of a career being ruined. And I expect he will accomplish more and more each season.
But, if you really want to play this game, how about this one... Julio Jones did better his freshman year than this past year. Clearly he is getting worse and has regressed-- why would anyone ever want to go to Bama when it is clear that Julio Jones showed up to UA a phenomenal talent, who was able to come in and be a game changer as a freshman; but, after being coached by Saban for a year, barely made an impact, except in one or two games? Fair enough, right?
You don't like Miles? That's fine. I'm not convinced he is a great coach either, though if he does well this year, then I will support him. But try to avoid making ignorant statements like this that you can't support and aren't accurate anyway.

Hopefully not playing much as freshmen gave them a piece of humble pie. I believe they will work harder then ever before this off season, learn their playbooks, realize this isn't high school, and make game changing impacts.

to me it looks like Shepard may have been some what over rated. He showed some signs that he will break some plays for us over his career at LSU. On the down side, he doesn't appear to have the best hands and looks like he is not very physical. Both can be corrected, but he needs time to develope. A red shirt year would have done him a world of good.

Ya, ya, freshman should come in and dominate and you know more than the coaches. Heard this line a million times.
