One of my favorite all time Tigers. We were at LSU at the same time and he was really a great guy.

My prayers go out to his family.

I remember his NFL career very well. I also knew he played at LSU, but by the time I was old enough to really get into the LSU games he had graduated. I started watching and listening to John Ferguson and the Walker guy and at about 1964. Winston had already graduated and was playing pro bowl

He was one of my dad's friends. He gave me a Minnesota Viking T-Shirt that he wore under his shoulder pads. I wore it over mine in high school.

Very nice man. Was able to go have a few drinks with him and my dad a few times in the late 80's.

Slowly, they all fade away.

Moonie was a nice man. Owned a fishing tackle store on Airline highway. I also Graduated from Istrouma. Saw him hit some monster home runs. One of the greatest OLB in NFL history.

Kind enough to to come to help out coaching me and others at Bernard Terrace Elementary School in BR in early 60s. I remember him as a large man with a lot of agility. Great Tiger!

Damn this guy was a helliva athlete. All SEC Offensive Lineman on the Football Team, Played Left Field on the SEC Championship Baseball Team & then apparently switched to LB in the NFL & played in 4 Super Bowls for the Vikings (unfortunately for him all 4 were losses)!

Dude won 3 High School Football State Championships.
Then in 1961 at LSU he won the SEC Championship in Baseball, SEC MOP & was a Unanimous AA in Football.
Played in 4 Super Bowls with the Vikings.

Met him in Pierre Part. My buddy's family had a fishing camp on the Belle River in Pierre Part. Got to have a few drinks with him and his buddy Norwood "Shorty" Harris. At the time I didn't realize what a legend he was! Magnificent athlete and one hell of a fisherman!
