True, we need a home run hire, but which big name would really come here? LSU is such a football school. Even when the team was doing well under Jones they could not sell it out regularly. Ditto during Trent's first year and Brady had problems even during the 2006 season getting consistent buts in the seats.

The program is a dumpster fire. I'm almost willing to have Bobby Knight come in.....just for entertainment purposes.... of course there would have to be police protection for the basketball players under his charge.

I would like them to look at Steve Forbes.

clearly you're young, because we packed the house consistently from the late 70s - early 90s.

Put an exciting, winning product on the court and basketball will be big, again, at LSU.

Guess I'll ask again. Can he recruit? No one questions his basketball acumen.

that'd be my concern. Really in CBB its more about connections than "ability to recruit" Musselman doesn't exactly have a lot of those in this region.

In an ideal world I'd prefer Drew. Not sure that Musselman has any connections here yet. Having been an NBA coach can't hurt. Anyone who comes here is going to have their work cut out

People actually think we can hire Scott Drew? Lol

This. Drew is a completely unrealistic option.

Drew's salary we could match but it looks like he recently signed a pretty large extension, I doubt we'd be willing to swing the buyout

Musselman will leave as soon as a west coast job opens.

Recruiting is what you have assistant coaches for.

Why would Scott Drew leave Baylor for LSU exactly?

To get away from the black cloud over the entire athletic dept at Baylor from the football program rape scandal.

Or to use LSU as leverage for a raise/extension to stay at Baylor.

With the way Alleva hires, don't be surprised when he hires Rick Stansbury !!!
