Do you think the beans counter would pay Drew $3+ mil to get his service? Not a chance in hell

Baylor is a Baptist University and all they have to do is make a calling to all the congregations in the south to pass the offering plate a couple of more times and BOOM!

i think musselman would be solid and might be the best we could realistically hope for.

This thinking is why our Basketball Program sucks.

Go get the best guy & pay him.

Drew is a great thought but Musselman would be a solid hire

I've seen his ETSU teams live and they are legit. They are long and athletic. I have them beating UF actually.

Alleva is a clown.

Temper your expectations of a HR hire.

Some nice input on all three. If it is indeed one of them, I prefer Drew.

But please answer this: Are we sure this early in the process that other coaches are not being considered?

Kermit Davis would be just the kind of hire Alleva would make. Low hanging fruit. Uninspiring, not terribly accomplished anywhere he has ever been and the cheapest. Alleva will never go after anyone that would actually take some effort to get.

Drew isn't coming dunno why he'd even suggest this. We better pray for Musselman. The jump to a power 5 is tougher than ppl think. Look at the guy from S.F. Austin he'd lost like 5 reg season games in his past 2 seasons there then went 20-12 at Oklahoma state this year and that guy was dominant in the mid-major group. He made the tourney but 20-12 at LSU probly wouldn't get in and he's a far better coach than Davis. Davis has been a power 5 coach before and went 16-42 in two seasons. Musselman is the better of the two he's been involved in the NBA his whole life he coached there and has been great at Nevada. I know some think heives around a lot but that's mostly been as an assistant. I hope our list of candidates is bigger because the odds of getting the right coach out of this list with Alleva and King are slim.

Given the lack of interest by this board as a prime example in the overall extreme low interest in the sport at LSU we will get who we deserve. I mean the hiring of a wide receiver coach could generate a 15 page thread on this site but one regarding the hiring of a basketball coach gets lost on page three tells you that the fans don't give a frick, and Aleva knows it. His hire will reflect that unconcern.

Why would Scott Drew leave Baylor for LSU exactly? Does he have ties?
LSU does a "Double" hire from the same school; Drew for the men and Kramer's mom for the women.

Seriously, Musselman all the way!

Jump on board the Plejaren Beamship Steamroller for Musselman. Launched in 2015 when it was clearly apparent that Jones was incompetent and in over his head...........

What is your issue with Kermit? Multiple analysts yesterday picked him to go to the Sweet 16 this year. And they beat 2 seed Michigan State last year.

Classic rant groupthink. Davis is a very good coach. I get wanting a younger guy who could be the next superstar coach, but Davis would be a good hire.

Oh but he had a bad run at a&m 30 years ago therefore his success at middle tenn is null and void. Love this place

of those three I'd prefer Mussellman. I get the he's moved too much, he'll bail the first chance he gets.

Ok. Let him bail. If he's wanted, then that means he has turned LSU basketball around. Wanting a guy to be here for 10 yrs or more may be unrealistic. If he comes here and wins than goes somewhere else I say thanks and good luck.

Davis would probably be ok.

Scott Drew gives me a dirty feeling like I need a shower after seeing him. Not sure that's him or thew whole Baylor rapey vibe.

So please Musselman for me

Like other people have said:

A lot of the best coaches in CBB have that vibe.

Pitino
Calipari
Roy Williams
Coach K
Boeheim

They all look like dirty politicians.

If LSU had Baylor's basketball success recently, I'd just have to shower after every game.

On Davis. To me if the guy is a good coach then why has he stayed at middle Tennessee for over a decade? Why has no other power 5 school swooped in to pick him up? He will be 58 next season, how many years will he be here?

That's a decent argument, but you've got other young coaches with only a few years (or less) of success.

You've got people bashing Musselman because he jumped around a lot and people bashing Kermit because he didn't.

No way this list is accurate, Alleva will not pay enough for Drew or Mussleman, Using Alleva logic, Kermit Davis is the only option if this list is true
