Yup, that is a loss. Will be tough to find someone to fill those big shoes, but gotta keep the faith!
Anyone hear any rumblings about who it's been narrowed down to? Any rumors perhaps?

Well, I live in Virginia Beach and still talk w/Justin and his Uncle, and DJ for that matter. LSU dropped the ball on this one. DJ was trying to still help LSU even after he was off the staff, not the other way around. DJ was telling Uncle Mike that Justin should stay with his LSU commitment.
Tennessee flies in Dooley AND the track coach AND the position coach and steals him away at the last minute. Justin will be in the Olympics one day and I couldn't even get the LSU track coach to call him. Total BS recruiting effort!!!

What you are doing is confirming what you want to see. First of all you mention 3 situations where you think Miles moved slow, what about the other staff hires he made? Replacing Fisher with Crowton? Hiring Chavis? Adding Cooper, Gonzalez, Wilson? How long did those take? Also how do the 3 hires you keep bring up compare to other hires at other schools?

So forgive me if I'm not as patient as the wise ones here, or uninformed as compared with most of you geniuses, or if I have a wrong impression. Clearly you guys have a far greater ability to discern what is happening at all levels and at all times.
I'm just never totally confident of *CLM's timing in hiring new coaches. Sometimes it is circumstances, sometimes it seems like it's him. Sorry if that bothers you (I am answering a bunch of responses by more ranters here than just yours H-Town, so please bear with me).

I think here is your disconnect. Are you counting as time to replace the time these guys were on staff and you wanted them gone? That's not what I'm talking about. The fact you (along with many others including me) were unhappy with Crowtons development of QB's is a different issue. You could argue they needed a QB coach, but the fact that they didn't have one does not mean it was an "open" position for a long time. That's a different issue from the current DB coach opening, which is a vacancy they will fill.

There is no need for you to be condescending. Cooper left on what Wednesday night? That there was not a replacement named Thursday morning is not a sign Miles is dragging his feet. I'm not sure how long it was from the departure of Crowton until Krags was hired or if it took a really long time. As for Chavis, iirc he was hired before the we played GT in the CFA bowl. I don't know how much sooner you think he should have been hired.
If we don't have a DB coach by St Pats day, come talk to me about it taking a long time, until then relax and see what happens.
