Ride for Kermit Davis

Has done incredibly well at MTSU, especially the past few seasons. Four C-USA championships in the last five years, two NCAA tournament appearances and knocked off 2 seed Michigan State last year. His team is currently 27-4 with a 17-1 conference record. He was also an assistant at LSU under Brady from 97-02.

He meets allevas criteria

Sure there are better guys out there, but you really think Alleva can pull it off? I sure as hell don't think so

Please god no. He's a Brady assistant and his record during his only stint as a power 5 coach is 16-42. Some guys are mid major coaches who can't do it at the higher levels he's one of them.

He's 27-4 with a 17-1 conference record.
And he would be a perfectly creditable hire.
But he's one of a whole host of mid-major coaches who would be creditable hires, all of whom are champions of their leagues or are at least in 2nd.
Will Wade at VCU (2nd in the A-10)
Steve Forbes at East Tennessee State
Eric Musselman at Nevada
King Rice at Monmouth
Paul Weir at New Mexico State (he's in 2nd in the WAC)
Kevin Keatts at UNC-Wilmington
Pat Kelsey at Winthrop
Dan Muller at Illinois State (2nd in the MVC)
Scott Cross at UT-Arlington
Any one of those guys would have a resume giving him a fighting chance of coming in here and building a program. I'd argue most of them, if not all, would offer more evidence of sustained success prior to coming to LSU of any coach we've ever hired.

I liked McCall earlier in the season, but he really shat the bed down the stretch.

Kermit isn't leaving Middle, got a great job, they bent over backwards to get him an extension, he's gonna retire there.

You're talking about his head coaching experience from the 90s? It's obvious he's gotten his shite figured out now.
Posted on 3/7/17 at 7:56 pm to macaoidh
I would love to have Musselman back here as a HC. Just don't see it happening though.

Scotty, your sauces picking up on the Buzz buzz?

Brady as an assistant?
Posted on 3/7/17 at 8:01 pm to Darth Aranda
It's obvious? He's won 20 games 7 times in 19 seasons! And he's been at mid majors all but 2 of them. Noway has this guy won enough to prove he's a winner at the power 5 level. For a lifetime mid major coach that's not a very good resume and then there's his history at the power 5 level which is horrible. Johnny Jones has a better resume.

At a BB school in a BB Conference in a BB crazy state...LSU would be a step down.

Steve Forbes at East Tennessee State

Eric Musselman at Nevada

likely candidates for NCST job

gun shy about Sun Belt schools

NCSU is hiring Archie Miller.
Posted on 3/7/17 at 8:43 pm to Darth Aranda
No to anyone with any ties to previous LSU head basketball coaches.
Posted on 3/7/17 at 8:45 pm to Elleshoe
Archie's going to have the pick of the litter, not just NCST
