No need for this. I agree 100% that because this kid is Jordan's brother that many here don't want him, but this is not a race issue amongst the fan base. Many LSU fans are tired of the entire Jefferson family and the Les Miles love affair with them.

I'll say this and you can take it for what it's worth. Nearly EVERY LSU fan I ran across during the three years JJ played in front of JL who had something negative to say about him almost ALWAYS brought his race into play. This does not include the random SCREAMS of niger at Tiger stadium when he'd be on the field.

To say it doesn't play a part for some fans as a blanket statement is just as silly as saying it's the only issue. It's part of it...for sure. How much can be debated.

This is where deputies say Jefferson got involved. When the detective was cuffing Sampson, they say Jefferson and Joe Sharp started punching the detective a number of times.

They also say Jefferson and Sharp tried to block the detective from getting Sampson again, who ran away while the scuffle was going on.

Eventually all three were arrested. Deputies booked Jefferson with resisting arrest by violence.

So, the officer chases and tries to arrest someone for yelling an expletive at him (not a crime), Jefferson allegedly then assaults that police officer, who wasn't chasing Jefferson according to the story. Yet for some reason Jefferson is charged with "Resisting arrest by violence" and not "assaulting a police officer" even though, according to the story, the officers were never chasing him or looking to arrest him.

Seems mighty fishy.

quote:

After telling the detective an expletive, he [Sampson] walked away from the detective leading the detective to have to chase him.

Why would a cop chase a guy who did nothing wrong and was walking away from the situation?

I like their accomplice. "Joe Sharp". A likely name for a parking garage hooligan just another funny aspect

Whatever.

I will admit that the Wednesday night folllowing Shady's Hannegriff show was an eye-opener for me. There seemed to be a definite split in the opinions based on the ethnicity of the callers (as best as I could tell from their voice).

FWIW, I never trusted the other guy's story in the Shady's fight. I felt that dude was dumb for picking a fight with the football team.

I wouldn't even write the word "marine" when talking about that other POS.

fwiw, I'm still not sure what the Marine's story was in the Shady's fight. "JJ and co. were being big mean football bullies in the parking lot and randomly picked me to beat up and kick while on the ground"?

It's honestly nothing against you. I don't think you were being racist. I know some posters were though which is unnecessary...

Whatever what? That I didn't run into tons of people who felt the need to drop the N Bomb every time they felt the need to go off on JJ? Sorry...it's what happened. Surely you're not going to tell me you never heard people hollering racial slurs at the kid from Tiger Stadium?

I get no joy in pointing it out...but I'm born and raised in the South. To pretend that race does not play a part in these stories doesn't benefit anyone. I have no way of knowing what percentage of people who bash these kids are doing so largely because of race...but you can see it in this thread. Some of it isn't even that subtle. I'd never say that's the only reason...because that would not be true.

It's gotten to the point where some of the fanbase [the posters who come out of the woodwork for this kind of shite] rejoice when situations like this take place.

The CLM aftershow taught me that much of this fanbase still hasn't changed one bit. The caller who said that all the black players wouldn't listen to Lee once JJ rejoined the team made me and at the same time.

didn't that fine, upstanding American war hero get hit by a car while stumbling drunk down the road a couple of weeks later?
