It is 100% a classy move
Again, why?
Jesus, have any of you people dealt with potential conflict situations? You develop policies and procedures for effectively dealing with them. Again, like I said, it is neither a classy nor a non-classy move. It is a administrative decision to deal with a potential conflict or the appearance thereof.
If there are collateral benefits to her, such as giving her the week off to enjoy game week and run through a field of flowers or whatever other bullshite some of you sunshine pumpers seem to think she would engage in, then so be it. But to think that was 100% of the motivation for this move is idiotic.

this comment seems to indicate that you think it'd be a classless move by Richt to give her the week off to protect his team from any loose lips or accusations. Not necessarily so.
It does not indicate that at all. If his reasoning is that he wants her to relax away from work and give her a break during a stressful week then it's a class move and a good boss move.
If his reasoning is to keep her away from the football facility for game prep reasons then that would be a good coach move.

Oh so "business moves" can't also be classy. Got it.

Is your hand OK? You knocked the shite out of that straw man. Hope it didn't hurt.

I think he's simply saying richt's motivations aren't exacrly 100% pure

"Since it may, understandably, be difficult for her to deal with that from a personal perspective, the best thing to do is remove her from it."
So you're saying coach Richt doesn't think Mett's mom has the chest for it??

SEC schools and fans can be unforgiving when football comes about and this move was mostly to spare Mrs. Mett from all the verbal harassment. LSU is notorious for getting opponents numbers and blowing their lines up with tons of junk, what makes you think a UGA fan and or student wont go by the office and do the same? Or drop off some form of harassment. I know damn well if an opponents close family member worked at LSU, some idiot of ours would cross the line. Sure Richt doesnt want anything leaking, but it sounds more like a CYA HR move than anything else haha protecting their investment is what they are doing and I'm glad they did it.

wouldn't it be better if she got the week off after the game? that way when she's smiling her arse off 5 days straight, she won't get fired.

I think how you perceive this news says a lot about your own character. Those who see it as a classy move are probably among the nicer variety. Those who see it purely as distrusting Mett's mom are probably of the shadier variety. My initial thought was that it was very classy, for the record.

Understand your point but this is not a normal conflict of interest. It's her son, it's emotional, people will be bothering her all week, she'd be a distraction and a story. Now, it's dealt with on Monday and done.
Working somewhere previously and giving birth to the opposing QB are quite different scenarios.

He's basically saying he doesn't want her to do something underhanded... that's a coward move, IMO.
Misuse of the word "Coward". What's cowardly? he doesn't want his secrets leaked out. If that's cowardly, so is huddling.

Coach Richt is a class man! Thank you, sir! That said, Zach is coming to whip your arse!

the UGA game plan. Get pressure up the middle, knock him down, try to mask coverages, take away ODB, shut down the run, and create turnovers.
Alright Dizz, just how the hell did you get hold of this information? And where do you get off at spreading this all over a message board!?

More importantly, who actually cares about this??

He'll need to give her next week off too after our 35-14 victory!

My initial thought was that Richt has foiled us. Mett's mom has been in on this since the beginning, including forcing Mett to get handsy with the barmaid.
