and came away thinking the exact same thing I thought after the 2018 LSU / Texas A&M game. Due to a combination of shoddy officiating and catching every break imaginable, one team fell arse backwards into a win they didn’t really deserve.

The game could have EASILY been 28-0 in the second quarter. Could you imagine this LSU team falling behind four touchdowns to anybody? Yeah, me neither.

Bottom line... Clemson is a very good team. LSU, however, is on another level. That will be evident to the nation in 11 days from now.

I would like to see some actual analysis instead of all of these threads.

The further we get from December 28th, the less sure I feel that we will win this game.

OU was just so bad, small, and unprepared for the game that I don't take as much comfort from that game as I should.

How will our players react to the national championship spotlight?

While watching the Fiesta and Peach Bowls I was convinced that the intangibles were all in LSU's favor, that there was something special and different about this team that the others couldn't match.
Why wouldn't I still feel that way? O me of little faith.

Joe Burrow, one way or another, is leading this team to a national championship. It's really just that simple.

We probably do to Clemson what Clemson did the Alabama last year.

Because. I could see if this was Clemson first or second time being here. It’s our 3rd time in 4 years being here and we still get no respect

If you don’t respect us, then who DO you respect? No one?

Going through life not respecting someone because you don’t like them, even though they’ve earned it, won’t get you far.

I respect LSU and their accomplishments. HELL OF A SEASON. May the best team win!

Let's not kid ourselves, Clemson is no longer the underdog who gets no respect. They are the king, and sometimes you have to kill the king.

ETA: this game it's kind of a come full circle type thing for LSU, as Clemson's win over LSU in the 2012 Peach Bowl sent both programs in opposite directions.

Well I for one do. I'm thinking it's going to be a slugfest.

Your last 3 teams have absolutely zero to do with how we should feel about THIS LSU team against THIS Clemson team.

I'd say most respect Clemson as the class of college football as a whole, we just think this LSU team is on another level.

Talking shite in a message board won't affect anyone's real life.

My question to you is why are all your fans and coaches so whiny about "respect"? You got into the playoffs even though you played a UCF level schedule, I'd call that respect. It seems like anything short of bowing down to Lord Dabo is considered disrespectful to you snowflakes in South Carolina.

You have a really good team but guess what? We think we have a better one.

I guarantee that our coaches and players are giving due respect, but you have to understand what we as LSU fans have seen this year. The team has gotten better almost every week, and just when you think you've seen it all, you see the Peach Bowl.

Our defense looked like our defenses of old, and the offense, without its second most valuable player and barely making use of the Biletnikoff winner, sleptwalk to 63 points.

As evidenced by my first post in this thread, it's almost hard to believe even though we have seen it.

I guess it's a fair point. Some of us, myself included have a hard time giving credit to a team who has beat no one this year, and when they play a decent team they get outplayed by a wide margin, only to luck into a victory.

It's the Boise State problem. A few years back, Boise State had a really good football team, but because they played the equivalent of an ACC schedule no one gave them credit, year after year even though they lost like 3 games in 5 years.

So yeah, your team still gets no respect from that horrible showing in the Fiesta bowl.

But what about coaching experience in the big game?

LSU has to capitalize on drives and not make the same mistakes OSU did (targeting, and being careless with the football, and other penalties), if so they win imo.

Weird post.
That chip-on-your-shoulder must get awfully heavy though.
