No need to apologize. These a holes want to get in everyone's face with that roll tide crap. I hope you made him feel like shite. That's the risk you take when you engage a stranger minding his own business.

Lets get one thing straight!!! My response to this guy was to challenge his lack of class!!! Messing with me while I am minding my own business. In no way do I begrudge people who attended other colleges or individuals who did not attend college at all. AND I especially have the utmost respect for our military and the men and women who serve, they are held in the highest esteem in my opinion. My question to you sir, what would your response be to a Bama fan who just wants to mess with you? I tried to show that I still have a set of them! and not let it get too out of wack!

I hear it every now and then hear in Houston. I'm conditioned to instantly give back a "Around the bowl and down the hole." ... Usually catches them off guard.

This post is all off track.

OP--you did the right thing. If someone's going to go there in that situation, hit em back. You didn't say anything out of line at all. You're not the one looking for trouble. Taking shite from Wal-Mart/sidewalk fans is annoying, especially in those types of situations. He started it, not you.

I think any rational person agrees you don't need a degree to be considered a fan a given school. A degree is not a requirement to be a fan and there are countless excuses, (not that they're needed) to justify being a fan of a school you did not attend. BUT, like everything else, there are always D-bags who take shite too far and a friendly reality check is just fine occasionally. Remember, Bama sidewalk fans shoot people and poison trees. frick them and their mulligan.

This is not directed as a criticism of the OP's actions. I agree with him. Heck, I had scholarship offers all over the place and decided to chase a girl to Southeastern. 'Tis life.

[quote]Congratulations" with a smile would be better (although I understand the hate). It makes you, us and the state look classy. "

Being preoccupied with class seems to be a very common theme amongst certain Tiger fans...I'll disagree with you and say, a smile and congratulations looks more like you just dont care that much and you lack passion for your flagship university.

Hell, maybe that's true for you, I dont know. There are ways to respond that are witty and funny and actually give you the advantage in a situation like that, but I suppose "class" should really be the goal, right?

Class is boring and primarily for those that lack passion and/or creativity.
