Repeat Championships are won in bunches. Miles’ opportunity has passed.

There is no ‘next year'
The landscape is littered with 1 time national Champions. It seems that type of coach either inherited a stacked team (Chizik, Coker) and was unable to maintain, or they became complacent and set a personal goal of say, 10 win seasons, which ended in complacency (Fulmer, Mack Brown). But the few coaches that have repeated did so in bunches over a relatively short period of time:
Urban – 2006, 08, 14 (7 year span –the one year away)
Saban – 2003, 09, 11, 12 (7 year span –the 2 in the nfl)
Carroll – 2003, 04, 05 (3 year span)
Bowden – 1993, 99 (7 year span)
Osborne – 1994, 95, 97 (4 year span)
Erickson – 1989, 91 (3 year span) Note: Johnson won in 1987, then went to the NFL (5 year span for those 3 championships)
Paterno – 1982, 86 (5 year span) Note: became an example of the worst kind of complacency
Its been 8 seasons since the BCS win of 2007. Miles blew his opportunity in 2011. Statistically, Miles is not winning another one. Keeping him at this point is just an acceptance of LSU no longer being elite, nor in the hunt for NCAA championships

I can see now why people turn to drugs.

Well then...

Well then I guess Bama better fire Saban, since his 7 year span is up

See your point, and fixed the title
"repeat championships" is the thought that needed to be conveyed

You let out the part where Tom Osborne coached 21 years at Nebraska before winning a championship. And bear Bryant? Why did you leave him out?

You missed the point. Saban has already repeated within that time span

Maybe you missed the part where OSBORNE was clearly included

Look, I still call 2011 a "Championship Year". We went undefeated in the regular season and won the SEC. We lost a bowl game in a rematch because of a system that is no longer in place. LSU accomplished more than Bama that year.

Uh, you are aware that Bear won his first championship at Bama in 1961, then repeated in 64, and several times after that?
That fits exactly into the OPs critieria

That an SEC coach, who has won more title than anyone else, totally shoots your narrative to shite. You would think you would have included Bear when you were talking about championship coaches, especially those who had long tenures, in this list. But it wouldn't help you make the point, which is incorrect....now would it?

I thought it was pretty clear, but here goes:
Any coach that repeated as national champions, did so well within the 8 year time frame that has passed since 2007. If Miles were to do it now, it would be a statistical anomaly

Who could downvote calling '11 a Championship Season?

Again, this is incorrect. You are either stupid, or outright lying to try to make your point.
Bear Bryant at Alabama won an AP title in 61, then again in 64 and 65, and then didn't repeat until 1978 and 1979. During that lull he had SEC records of 2-4 and 3-4. Good enough for 8th place and 7th place finishes in the SEC. The decline was real.

I agree. And multiple championships are won over several years.

Any comment as to the inaccuracy of your OP, and the ones after it? Or are you still holding strong to the "championships are all won in an 8 year time frame"?
