I still am bitter about 1959. Why play in the regular season if if doesn't count for anything?

I can't imagine too many things better than beating bama twice in one year...

I agree.

The say with the BCS the season matters. Every game is a playoff. Well, apparently not this year.

Either way the media is going to downplay it if we win.

If we play bama then they will say we didn't play an elite offense like okie state.

If we play someone other than bama they will keep up with the "bama outplayed us". Even thought that is complete crap.

eta: I don't care either way. I just want to win.

Yeah but do you remember beating UGA the 2nd time in Atlanta? It was worse that year. Nobody, and I do mean, nobody gave LSU a snowball's chance in hell of beating UGA in their own backyard.

It was a feeling of "how dare those LSU fans think they're gonna beat the might UGA bulldogs, they were damn lucky to beat them in their home stadium that year because of missed field goals."

Sound familiar? It was so freaking sweet waxing them in the rematch. This will be that, plus some. Granted, we beat Bama in their own backyard already so it's a little different, but it still feels the same.

Yes, rematches suck. As a fan, they really suck. But you are right about this:

Hell, I'm just a natural pessimist. I worried about us being 9-3 this year

I worry about UGA

I was certain we would lose to pigs

I don't know what else Les and team can do to convince me to quit worrying.

Nevertheless, rematches suck (unless we win :) )

I've made a lot of posts how I don't think Bama should be given a rematch since they lost the game as a home team. But if it is Bama in the NCG we have a tremendous ace in the hole with Les Miles. Of all the current coaches there are none that are good as Les to get a team preped for a bowl game. His teams play at two levels higher then they did during the season.

Why Should LSU play a team that didn't even win their own conference and LSU has already beaten.

To tell you the truth, I believe they should only be one from a conference and the other from another conference. Otherwise lets start the playoffs brackets.

If OSU and VT lose (very possible), there is no argument against Bama. Sometimes you can't avoid rematches.

If OSU wins, my opinion is there's no reason to have a rematch while there's a deserving team that didn't already play the #1 team out there. You never really know how teams match up until they play.

If VT wins but OSU loses, the argument is tougher, because VT's schedule was an absolute joke. I'd almost rather Houston over VT since at least Houston didn't drop a game to their shitty schedule. Still, VT always gets that preseason voter love, so the postseason love may return. Their computers suck though, so Bama will stay #2.

I agree with you.

What happened to the BCS represents a playoff atmosphere from the very first game of the season. Every game counts.

Obviously, that's a lie.

Fwiw, last night I read an article where they quoted a couple of players that wanted a rematch.

I still stand by what I said though.

This is how I feel about this rematch shite
makes absolutely no sense, what's the point of playing the SEC Conference game if Bama is going to get a free pass into the BCS Title game? Which they do not deserve to be in there... THEY LOST AT HOME and Cant Kick worth for shite

Routing for Choklahoma State to beat Choklahoma and for them to jump bama in the polls

At least in 1959 the bowls really were meaningless in the standings. Plus, we had already been beaten by Tennessee so it didn't matter.
