They played FSU and Miami this year and took care of business. That's going to help them.

Agreed, for the life of me I can't understand why in the hell Florida is ahead of us, even though we have a better overall record, better SEC record, and we beat them 2-3 at THEIR place.

Because of UF's RPI

Which I think is bullshite considering the committee ignred LSU's RPI last year and focused on conference record as the reason for leaving us out

But then again, the committee us a bunch of frickheads

The only thing they have better is RPI. Also, they were preseason #1 and some just cant seem to let that go.

Florida did sweep F$U this year, I believe.

& @ Miami, & shutout UCF

We have nobody to blame but ourselves for scheduling so weak. Florida is at a bit of an advantage being able to play midweek games vs quality competition (FSU, UCF, etc), while we're stuck w/ mcneese & tulane, but our pre-SEC schedule was a joke.

Why schedule harder when last year it wasn't even respected we played Cal St?

Wacha is outstanding. Outside of that, they swept Pepperdine over there and took 2/3 from Texas. Not exactly the resume of all resumes.

Stripling is every bit as good as Wacha. Our 1 and 2 are interchangeable. Stripling has a no hitter, 1 hitter and 2 hitter this year. Almost had 2 no hitters.

Our 3 starters go....

Michael Wacha: 2.15 ERA
Ross Stripling: 2.36 ERA
Rafael Pineda: 2.51 ERA

And even with his less than stellar start of the season,

Daniel Mengden: 3.38 ERA (He's our 4th starter and has been lights out lately)

Unless we do much better than them this week, expect to see them seeded higher than us.

True but we're talking about polls here, we'll see what the committee does next week. Maybe they don't look @ RPI as much as the pollsters?

ETA: err this is a projection thread. Not use to these on Mondays.

And your strength of schedule is easily the worst of anyone in the top 15.

They look at whatever they want for that team. There is no set standard.

SOS is 36... not 34, sorry.

With that said, your RPI is your RPI... if the schedule was horrible, we wouldn't have a top 8 RPI. See Purdue.

Unless UF bombs I expect to see them as 1 or 2 to be honest with you.....if they are playing this Sunday I'd put a lot of money on them being overal 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA.

Please no, don't want to have to face A&M, their pitching is ridiculous. And yeah, they'd probably beat out Arkansas.

True, wish there were more transparency or atleast some guidelines for teams to follow.

I've said all along that who we're paired up w/ for supers & being in the right bracket in Omaha is more important than being a high seed anyway.

Huh??? I can't tell if your serious... A&M played a very respectable OOC schedule, a hell of a lot tougher than LSU's. I'll give you that the Big 12 sucks this year but A&M only had two series which they didn't win.
