JJ can run. That is the biggest diff between the two qbs,,, From what ive seen JL has a better arm.

JJ has a stonger arm. Lee has a quicker release. I think JJ overall has the better physical talent and more upside but he's still raw.

Biggest difference besides JJ running ability is that JJ seems to really get into the game and enjoy himself. Lee looks like he's constipated most of the time. He needs to relax and have more fun (hard to do when you're chasing down a LB who just pick you off). I would reallly like to see him get fired up after once in a while. I think his game would improve a lot.

That being said, I think JJ will start and so far he deserves to. But I guarantee he will have some real WTF moments next year and then we'll hear from all the "I told you so" Lee fans.

LA007 Why don't you tend to your own business. If you don't like what I post don't read it.

I have to read a post before I decide if I don't like it. And, I try to place all comments in context within the thread, and take into account the natural emotive response which a poster will have when replying to another, when insults to the poster and/or the player and the like are made.

I have been fairly supportive of Lee on this board, even though our opinions differ greatly on the play of Lee and Jefferson.

Frankly, I don't like seeing you get beat up because of what I believe is your myopic support of one QB over another. It's not that I disparage your opinions per se because of your conclusions. I just think that we should be fair to both sides in our analysis.

It's not personal, and I apologize for saying "shut up", which is not a nice thing to say... but I get caught up into the discussion as well, and upon reflection, regret the way I say things.

Here's to our QB's next year, no matter who they be.

i believe if jj runs like he did in the other games he played you will see lee early in the season and then after jj heals up you will began to see the two qb system used for the rest of the season. shep should be red shirted but chances are he won't be.

I think it's a misnomer to think that a running QB in college is more likely to be injured than a "pocket passer".

First of all, some injuries occur to QB's b/c they haven't been conditioned for contact... which is way more likely for a QB that doesn't run within the scheme of the offense.

But, far more importantly, most QBs receive serious injury from impacts on the ground, whether it be a dl piledriving their shoulder or a dl hitting their plant leg on a throw... like when Lee got hurt.

yes Lee did lose games for LSU last year but it was not all his fault he was not ready to play and got put in anyway. he did not have to win games just not lose them and it was too much for
him I just hope he is strong enough mentally to overcome it JJ does not have to win games by himself either LSU has plenty of talent to do that just dont make mistakes it also looked to me that lee was scared to take a hit

tojo i agree with you .both will see playing time and like i said earlier if jj continues to run he will get hurt. i watched flynn and rp also oregon's qb last year not to mention several other qb's get hurt when they ran. it's a long season especially playing in the sec. a qb running or not has a very good chance of getting hurt so the people who keep dogging out lee will be depending on him to win games for us.

OMG, please say it won't happen, unless its absolutely necessary. My arse can not take anymore of his bad game

J Marcus started out slow and probably represents an acceptable level of player development. To allow JL to go as far as he did IMO, is a unfortunate mistake by our coaching staff. Had JJ been utilized earlier in the season we would have had a better record

IMO, You lost all credibility with the very last sentence.

Couple facts for you.
1) LM and GC know a tad more about this qb situation than you do.
2) Our Def was a far bigger reason that contirbuted to 5 losses than JL ever was.

for some reason people think jj would have done so much better than lee did last season. i can recall a few times watching jj go into the game after they pulled lee and he through the ball in the ground 10 yards ahead of the reciever and i watched him run several times for a big loss and also throw int's. what i'm getting at is the play calling this season was shitty until the gt game which you could see was completely different from the calls made during the season. lee looked bad because of the play calls just like jj did when he played this season. it was so easy for the opposing team to read the plays we were gonna run it made our offense look terrible not just the qb but the rb's and the line. you are right about the defense they looked like shite also. even as bad as the offense looked we still scored 20+ points in every game but one. if they would have put jj in this season they would have been calling for his head instead of lee's.

both QB's have good arm strength.

however JJ doesn't look like he's about to shite the bed every time he walks out on the field.

Doc why don't you quit being stupid and admit we are going to need both Lee and JJ next year.

if I ever heard someone in a crowd yelling FOR jarrett lee to play in a game, i'll know it's you.

look at the games and see how obvious the play calling had changed between the first half and the second half

+1. Lee definitely doesn't carry the entire burden for a marginal season. But, fact is, Jefferson came in and showed immense promise at QB. That is why he will be the starter in the fall IMO.
