Past Stats?
Age?
High School Rating?
Serious question. Not taking either side, just want to know what we are hoping for in him.

- A little experience in college
- Neck and neck with what should be a great QB in Haskins
- tOSU fans speak highly of him, even AFTEr he announced he was leaving <---- big one
- Several tOSU fans wanted him to play over JT Barrett
- Coaches son and knows the game well
- All the attributes are there, has the size, accuracy, talent, intelligence etc...
- Made for a shotgun RPO offense which we're moving to
- Developed by a coaching staff who knows how to get a lot out of QBs
Basically just a much better overall package than anyone we currently have.

Film is correct.
You just have to know what to look for.
Most fans don’t.

Because he’s a backup at another school. All backup QBs are popular at LSU.

-More game experience
-More physically developed
-Almost won the job at Ohio State, which has had good QBs lately
-A high profile recruit
-lackluster performance of our own QBs in the spring game

The biggest thing is that he is going into his fourth season of college football and spent the previous 3 under a HC who has a history of coaching teams with good QB play at 3 different schools (Utah, Florida, OSU). LSU right now has 3 guys on the roster.
1 is a RS Freshman who has great athleticism, but there are injury concerns and probably some questions about his ability as a passer.
Another is a true Soph. with limited playing experience. He looks to be someone who could be a good passer, but there are clearly concerns about his size.
The 3rd is a 4th year player who has never factored in at all in the QB race...for a program that has long been desperate for good QB play. Certainly it is reasonable to ask why?
All four guys (including Burrow) are unknowns. But it's clear that the LSU staff is concerned that none of the 3 guys already on the roster can accomplish what they want to get done on offense. Thus, they are willing to take a chance on the unknown who has more experience (albeit not much more) than the other three AND the physical traits they covet.

They don't know if he's better but someone will give you a stupid reason as to why he's better

I don't know that he's better at all.
There's reasons to hope he's better but that's all it is. You never really know until the guy is out there in a live game.

I posted about his elite high school statistics here: LINK / (63 TDs and 2 interceptions in senior year of HS)
Also, watch his amazing touch on intermediate and deep throws in the 2016 full contact spring game. See LINK He also had a very good 2017 non-contact spring game.
As an OSU fan, I really would love to see Burrow throw his insanely accurate rainbows, but realize that Haskins in beating Michigan earned the job. (After Burrow in effect lost the back-up job after breaking his thumb in August 2017)
