It sounds like the decision has been made that Cameron won't be back at LSU next year. Whether or not that is a Les decision or a Cameron decision is unclear.

But, given the chatter from the local media and the fact that our QB recruit has been wavering, it sounds to me like this is done. There is a lot of speculation on Les, but one thing just about everyone agrees on is that Cameron is done. That sounds like info that has leaked to me.

Personally, I think Cameron is a good OC. Like most, I think that our over conservative approach actually makes it harder on our QBs and on any OC to consistently perform.

I'd love to get behind the reasons Cameron is leaving. It could be his health. It could be a disagreement with Les. It could be the offense's lack of performance. Something is up, IMO.

You forgot a huge one: people in the TAF or athletic department told Les he needed to hire a new OC.

All these HC replacement threads, say Les gets another year and Cam gets canned. Who are realistic choices for OC?

Does it really matter? Les will be given next year to win big and that's it, if he survives this year. They aren't gonna give an OC a big contract if they don't know how long the head man will be there

What big time OC will sign on for a year?

We need to make a move on Tyson Helton the guy from WKU. He is real, real good.

This guy gets it!! Also, what OC would want to come here just to be hand cuffed? The draw obviously is #7 and co, but if you can't call the plays you want, what's the point? Then, your name gets attached to not being able to win with #7. Screw that.

I said Saturday night I wish we could have that guy. Can't see how we could though in the messed up situation this is.

Lol no. Yall are misguided if you think people are going into Les' office and telling him what he has to do.

You think they offer Cam a 1 year deal?

My thought is that Alleva has told Miles that Cameron is not coming back. Now Miles has to decide if he's going to continue on without Cam or just retire.

If Les fires Cam, yes it does matter. It could be a huge hire to determine his future. That is why I'd like to hear names.

Idk. This is a message board where we can discuss these things. So contribute or gtfo

I would imagine it would be pretty hard to bring in any respected or sought after OC knowing that Miles is on his way out and he will control the offense anyway. Zero job security and zero leash to do your job.

If we do make a change it will be an internal promotion or a retread hire. I believe if you change OC, you might as well change the HC to put the best staff together as possible. You either have to bring Cam back on a one year deal or get rid of he and Miles. If both of them are canned, make the announcement after A&M so you can make contact and get the guy you want before moves start being made.

I'm sure Les will be flooded with resumes of young, innovative OCs that are dying to come work for a lame duck HC that won't let them operate their offense.

He's in his first year as an OC at a small school with an NFL caliber QB. That's a bit too unproven for me.

That's one of the reasons I don't think that the decision is coming from Miles or the administration.

I would have assumed that Miles and Cameron were tied at the hip for the remainder of Miles' tenure. It's going to be tough to hire another OC...even harder to hire one with a better resume than Cameron.

This is what I am afraid of and if that is the case I don't see Cam being fired. If Les somehow survives this season, fires Cam and fricks up the hire, that will be the nail in his coffin. This weekend will really decide it all.

I think most people would be pretty happy about this as a hire.

Enos has done well (and I don't know much about the situation that he's in) but I don't know why he'd leave unless it was for more money. IMO we really don't need to start off a new OC at Cam's salary (plus).
