Leonard Fournette
Darrel Williams
Derrius Guice
David Ducre
Nick Brossette

Out of all of those, David Ducre can and will probably play both RB/FB. Leonard will obviously start and Darrel Williams will most likely back him up. Derrius Guice seems like he will be a taser type back and will be used during quick passing plays. Now I got a question for the rant. Where do you see Brossette fitting in? Seems like we hear everyone elses name except his.

Last year Fournette got something like 180 carries to Williams's 60.

I don't expect that to change. Guice, Ducre, and Brossette all knew who was on the roster when they signed to play for LSU. Their impact this coming year will primarily be special teams.

RB STABLE

I clicked on this expecting to read that one of our running backs was recovering in the hospital from some unknown ailment...

I am really hoping Derius makes mark this year returning kickoffs. Agree him and brossette should both be special team guys, but I think Guice gets himself some carries also. He is a guy who I'd love in the backfield alongside LF7 whether its split backs or as a FB.

I was going to say I think he takes a redshirt but going back and looking at previous season RB attempts he'll probably still end up with around 30 carries for the season. obviously Leonard will get the bulk with Darrel getting the second most. I think the third back is up in the air

I have Guice beating out Williams for the second spot. It happens every year. The cream rises to the top.

ETA: I have Guice beating him out by the UF game.

I think they all see playing time this year in the backfield. No need to redshirt any of them or let the talent go to waste. We should always have a fresh back as a change of pace and to give Fournette a rest.

Each one brings something special to the table. As someone said earlier, N doesn't get as much attention, but he could start for any other team in the country. He reminds me a lot of JHill.

I dont see Guice beating out Williams for the 2 spot. However, he will have more yards than Williams when it's all done.

Well I meant halfway during the season, will edit that

2011 - took all of one game suspension by Ware to take Hilliard from last to #2 in carries the second half of the season. He went from getting 5 carries the first 7 games to 57, in the final 7 games. Ford totaled 60 carries as the leader.

2012 - Hill went from 13 carries the first 6 games, to 129 the last 7. From depth guy to starter

2013 - Blue was supposed to be the direct backup to Hill and started ahead of Magee for Hill's game one suspension. Magee went from being pushed to WR because of the depth at RB the year prior, to the direct backup to Hill the very next year.

2014 - Fournette came in and owned. Some people pre season were sure Magee would hold the position all year or most of the year. I said by SEC play he would be the starter. Fournette was the leading ball carrier in every game from NMST on (5th game). Well except for Arkansas, where it is still a mystery why they only gave him 5 carries (same damn mystery against Notre Dame).

Guice isn't just this jet sweep, 3rd down pass, end around, toss sweep, etc, etc back. The guy is built kinda like Nick Chubb but faster. He has crazy power and leg drive. He's like 5'10 215 with legit 4.4 something speed. Really explosive, and can plant that foot in the ground and change on a dime almost like Reggie. Hands are better than most WRs.

Fournette and Guice will be DMac and Felix 2.0.

Sacks, big runs, big hits, big passes

When this offense runs right it is pretty bad arse, bully ball. LSU has a great history of RBs and this group should be remembered well. Up there with Kevin Faulk.

Guice and Willis will be used in different situations, at least early on. The backup spot is open and based on their production and game plan, it will probably change throughout the season. I'm not sure if LSU will go all Nick Chubb and give Fournette 30+ carries a game, but he will clearly get the most.
