Idk how the players like Adams doesn't work on weakness in the offseason or if he has how they can't improve? If I were him I wouldn't have had anyone throw anything but curve balls and sliders to me all day and night until I improved. Then I would sit on this pitch because I know I would get it 80% of the time. He needs to bend his knees and put his weight back to sit on those breaking balls then destroy it. You start hitting that 430 ft they will change their approach.

When your problem is seeing pitches out of a pitchers hand it's not as easy to correct. That is a skill amongst itself. I have no doubt if Adams could see a curveball out the pitchers hands then he would hit and/or lay off them better. If you cant pick up the spin of the ball then it doesn't matter ehat you've worked on in the offseason.

I'm really not trying to be a douche when it comes to Adams. Nobody wanted him to succeed more than me. I prefer having guys like Adams hit, just look at the dude. The guy can't hit a breaking ball to save his life. Woley looks sharp and Romero was serviceable last year. That puts a leftie and righty in front of him. How does he get playing time? Someone would have to get hurt or we are up by 10.

ETA: Romero was more than serviceable but didn't do well at the end of the year if I recall.

Woley and Romero are both right handed.

Woley has looked really good so far, I'd be sticking with him. Adams wont even see fastballs against the better pitchers we'll face, so he'll just strikeout a ton. I wanted Adams to succeed because he can hit it a mile and having him and Deichmann sprayed in the lineup means you got 2 guys who can crank out the park a lot of RBIs in 1 AB on any mistake pitch. Problem is Adams literally cant identify pitches and swings and misses by a lot.

To me, Adams can be a situational DH of sorts. Fastball pitcher, we got guys on and need a dinger to catch up or break a tie, throw him up there

Was thinking of Reid, and Reid is probably a better DH than Adams. so that's three in front.

Because he was getting a steady diet of breaking balls that he couldn't lay off of.

Yet he still had the highest Slugging % on the team and the second most RBI with significantly less AB. He proved himself last season. That being said, I agree with Josh that he is not going to get much of a shot unless Woley falters.

I'd rather see Romero in that situation than Adams.
