Yeah college defenses are far more advanced than during Hodson's tenure.

And offenses have had all the rule changes in their favor. Every single player admits it. No brainer. Offenses have advanced way more the last 50 years.

You really are an idiot.

Yeah. Did you forget how everyone that was an authority figure in his life, died after he got drafted?

Please elaborate on all these rule changes since 1988.

Youre also forgetting that the sec in Hodson's era is no where near as difficult as the sec during JRUSS time at lsu.

agree with chadr07. This thread shows how poor our QB history has been.

Since 1970 no sec program has sent more qbs to the nfl than lsu.

You do realize you can look this shite up right.

I believe 2011 was tougher but not much tougher.
Outside of LSU,bama, and arky the sec was garbage in 2011.

2011 was a much tougher schedule than 2006. We played Pac-12 champion and Rose Bowl winner Oregon, Big East champion and Orange Bowl winner West Virginia, #3 Arkansas, Top 15 Georgia, and National Champion Alabama twice.

Also, the SEC went 6-3 in bowl games, indicating that the conference was not "garbage". One of the 3 losses was LSU losing to another SEC team in Alabama.

I know.
It still isnt much better.

2006 lsu went to Arky, to UF, Auburnn and to tenn. All of these teams were top 8 when we played them.

postseason doesnt factor into difficulty of schedule.

2011 lsu played all of 4 ranked teams in the regular season.

Means nothing. 7 sec teams had 5 losses or more in 2011.
2011 sec was hot garbage outside of lsu bama and arky.

First of all, Bert Jones was the LSU GOAT. The poster after you listed Hodson first, but that's a joke. If Hodson was on the same team as Jones he would never see the field...and the coaches would be praying hat Jones doesn't get hurt.

Jones was far and away the best LSU QB of my lifetime (I started watching in 1968). There is a gigantic dropoff after Jones. I'd take Hodson over Jamarcus. Jamarcus had tremendous talent. In fact, his talent was equal to Bert Jones'. But Jamarcus was stupid. The coaches could never put the game in his hands the way FSU did with Winston or TAMU did with JFF.

Hodson had about as much talent as Anthony Jennings. But he was a cunning QB. He ran a multiple offense that was innovative at that time.

A shocking fact is how few good QBs LSU has had since Jones. Before that we had no problem getting great QBs. After Jones it's been a poverty of QBs. Basically anyone who was decent is in line to be the goat
