Randon thoughts on Tiger Fans....

As I witnessed an empty Tiger Stadium in the 3rd QTR last weekend I had a thought that made me chuckle with some demented pride.
I kind of like the fact that LSU fans are the "antifan" of college football...meaning we'll show up in full force and rip your heart out when it is necessary..and it is mostly necessary...BUT we will not, under any circumstances, follow blindly to the notion that we HAVE to support whatever or whomever is in P&G or follow guidelines on how to act within our own or other school's respective domains.
I like the fact that we:
1. do not show up in force for a lame arse spring game every year
2. do not show up for nationally televised games like when some team called towson shows up
3. give mett shite b/c he thought it would be funny to dress like burgundy and turn the ball over multiple times to some team called townson (who the F%$k does he think he is?)
4. never really let miles know if he's fully appreciated or even liked..yeah he won a nc...but....meh.
5. kinda miss the days when we could boo the everlivin shite out of our team without any backlash from the uppercrust society of BR who recently bought season tickets (after cns) and actually bring their 2 yr olds thinking this is isn't a college football game where people eat breathe and poop LSU and they will never ever use profanity every other word to describe their level of anguish over kadrone boone dropping yet another laser pass that hits him in the flopping chest.....or the pc sunshine pumpers that god knows where they came from these last couple of years...anyhoo..we like to cuss and cuss often at our team and screw you if you don't like it. cover the two year old's ears. this is our therapy. this is our dr....this is our time to reconnect with the raw, bad, nature of our primordial being. It prevents us from goin postal in other situations where people's lives would be at risk on some oil rig out in da gulf
6. could give a rats arse if espn college gameday ever comes back to BR...EVER
7. have other things goin on in life like mardigras, jazzfess, huntn, fishn, berls, festivals..etc
8. Can't stand pom poms and fully believe that other fans that use pom poms are all funny...not ha ha funny...
9. Ruin perfectly good traditional songs because we can't help adding a reference to sucking Mike's genitalia
10. feel free to add your own....
thats it. we're different....and negative, generally...but thats ok. there is always a punchline involved. we're LSU fans. love it. geaux us.

I told some folks last Saturday night that some of the larger changes in Tiger Stadium are due to two things:
1 - the 21 year old drinking age (which to my thinking has backfired, you didn't see binge drinking deaths at LSU when you could legally buy a beer at the Union), today's students arrive in the stadium reasonably sober and can think about song lyrics...when I was a student, about all you could get coherently out of the student section was "bullshite" when the officials made a questionable call...
2- admission standards (which I still think are a good thing), where you lost the half semester student who would show up for home games and not much else...

Stay in the bayou, it smells better than the shite you post.
Just because people act like they have some shred of dignity, especially when our home state and university can use a bit of positive press in the national spotlight doesn't mean they're bandwagon fans or newbies to the P&G
I'm generation Y, been watching LSU since I was old enough to understand it, had season tickets since the day I moved (back) to louisiana, and still think you (as a fan) and others with that philosophy are the worst thing about LSU football.
I'm not saying we need to become Stanford or Ivy league fans...but you're talking about booing our team, publicly crucifying good coaches, and being unecessarily vulgar (dont' get me wrong I drop bombs watching games...but c'mon).

Good God, I LOVE being an LSU fan!
ETA: Don't listen to these toons. They're just mad because this post accurately describes the type of fan they really are.

I'm not convinced that your manifesto emphasizes any significant differences found in most other collegiate gridiron fan bases. Please don't infer gross disagreement with your premise, though.
However, one glaring attribute that is not common to most followings as to ours, is the frequent and inexplicable use of the term 'butthurt'. I must confess, it has become one of my favorite go to words...so much so, our pastor has banned me from leading in public prayer in our church...yeah, like he knows whether or not Jesus gets butthurt--dang know-it-all.

Pretty much agree with it all. But it's the same tired shite most people bitch about on this board.

Sounds about right to me.
For the tldr crowd, you suck, always have, your foreheads are sloped and your hypocrisy is excessive. You're the same guys who will spout out in RL - whenever someone will listen to you - about LA culture and how we live different.
