I was never a Jimbo hater, but I'd love to see a single person on here that would fess up to ever saying a negative thing about the guy during his tenure.

I'm sure everyone was in love with the guy in 02 and 04, and the Auburn 06 game had roses sent to his office in support

I would love him as a replacement btw, and will gladly eat crow if he is here. I just don't see it happening.

This thread is dumb. Bama fans had plenty of negative shite to say about Saban after the Ole Miss game this year.

was bad...but we now see similar performances every single week.

I also think he's grown a lot since then. There is no doubt he is a QB mastermind. Annually he has a top QB (other than this year) that plays above where they should.

He also loves to get his athletes in space and will show commitment to the run if he has the horses like Cook.

Jimbo with a good DC, Frank Wilson, and Orgeron would be an absolute home run.

Doubt it will work out like that though.

I was excited to see what would happened with a new OC...turned out it was Miles all along.

Jimbo is a helluva coach.

-The rant thought he sucked until they wanted him, will love him and he is the best coach ever if we get him.
-Will hate him and he sucks if we don't get him
-Will hate him and he sucks at the first sign of a struggling offense next year if we do get him.

People were bitching in 2006 during the Auburn game and after. Saying we only scored 3 points with JR and all of those talented WR. I think that was more of an issue with Les and less to do with Jimbo.

Yeah no question. I've been really impressed with the way he's handled what could have been really difficult shoes to fill after Bowden. I know they had been down a few years, but he was still a straight up legend in Tallahassee and college football in general.

As tough as it will be for someone to step in after Miles, Jimbo has already proven he can follow an even bigger legend.

Only difference is, he had the benefit of patience from the fans and admin for a few years knowing he had to rebuild.

If Jimbo or whoever the next guy is doesn't at least win the SEC next year, things could go very very badly for the poor guy.

Hoping for the best no matter how it goes down

So many drives ended with bad calls and so many drives hurt by handoffs to a fat Broussard and Vincent

He was quite predictable as a play caller when he was here.

That was 11 years ago though, hes proven to be a competent head coach now.

Ya'll get too wrapped up in the 7-3 score. That was an all out fricking war. Jim Mcelwain was only able to score 1 touchdown against LSU in 8 quarters in '11.

Jimbo has proven he can recruit, coach and win. He would be a great hire.

No way man. Whoever a new coach would be it is dumb to expect him to win the SEC next year.

02 and 04

Two seasons with inexperienced QB play. if you want to judge Fisher do it on 03 and then 05/06 when the young QBs has had in 02 and 04 grew under his system. Yes, teams with young QBs (especially those with not alot talent in Mauck and quesitonable work ethic is Russel) will struggle. But if you want to see the value, under Fisher Mauck led LSU to a national title and threw more TDs than anyone in school history in 03 and Russel rose to the #1 pick in the draft under Fisher.

Mostly early on, when he worked for Saban.

Besides that, the refs killed every promising drive and negated every significant pass completion. It was a complete and obvious screw job that no coach on the planet was going to beat auburn that day.

They will embrace him like he's one of their own.

The mob is fickle, brother. He'll be forgotten in a month.

No, much sooner than that......

It's been arranged.

This. Not a tear was shed when he left. And now we want to go beg him back. Weird.

Yes, he only had a strong hand in bringing LSU 2 national championships.
