BTW, Champ, you weren't the one who used the "SOBs". My really, really fumed post should have been a reply to that poster. Critiquing and griping about this or that a player woulda, coulda, shoulda done on the field is one thing, but trashing student athletes, no matter how disappointing the play on the field this year, is a real picadillo for me personally.

Mercy knows if the timing hadn't been different, I'd probably have been born at half-time of an LSU game so my parents wouldn't miss any of the action in Tigah stadium. My late parents were life-long Tigah fans and my Dad was a HS ref early on and did some Jr High coaching later when his mobility was hampered, so I've always been an avid follower the game and, obviously, a diehard LSU Tigah, go figure.

yup- thanks---i was wondering where that came from. I think the worst i called them was bonehedded jackasses and thugs - which admittedly they behaved like on those two plays. For the record, I still say they should have gone to the locker room for the balance of the game, and should probably get a week off...missing the bowl game would be harsh i admit- but not out of the question.

As for the LSU fanaticals - I hear ya....My neighbors wonder what the purple confederate flag means and get very worried when the expletives fly on Saturday when the windows are open

Thirteen 330s in a row - all under 60 seconds - 10 second break between each one. After about 5-6 of them, they'll be puking all over the track. Make the rest of the team watch. Every dumb arse play from here on out gets the "run 'til you puke" punishment.

When they finish running, they can go clean up the puke off the track.

My bad, my apologies, for not paying attention to which post I was responding to, just to be abundantly clear.

I know. Because most of our neighbors still fear the SEC after being whipped two years running in the NCG, they seem to just think this year is a little rebuilding bump in the road for LSU.

Some of 'em sure bragged about the NCG's outcome a whole lot leading up to January 7th though. A few twaddled on about how LSU was an unworthy opponent. We just gritted our teeth and smiled ... until about 11:30pm, EST, or so that evening, that's when the fun really began.

yes- i inherited a spectacular 40$ cigar in a bet with an avid Ohio State fan that I work with. It was a beautiful smoke, accented by some cognac I won from another OS fan. It was a sweet year- I'll admit that

Group punishment is after you punish the boneheads. First the two idiots run the thirteen 330s, then after they clean the track, the whole defense does up downs until they can't stand up any more. Do that a few times, and players will take care of it after that.

Nah, I'd rather sit back and enjoy the golden era (assuming we get back to it in '09), critique LSU FB and gripe and moan when we have a throwback season like this one and do all that Mom stuff - if I'd known it was this much fun, we'd have started adopting kids a lot sooner than we did!

Exile- tell you what - you can be the CO-DC if ya really want to

But you'd have to increase your focus on the negative consequence thang!!!

PS- I am really a Skinner fan---but punishment does work for stopping bad behavior from never repeating itself.

And, you, sir, are obviously a glutton for punishment and yet another season of pure misery.

Aye, we have to do our share of it around here as well - it almost universally ends up being as unique as the kid and the offense for which they're being disciplined. Most of ours came never having known any structure and so forth. It's amazing how kids rail against rules and guidelines publicly, but secretly crave the very structure they complain about endlessly ... and flourish when they have it.

I'm not much on the current run of victim-hood either. Which also means I'm a throwback in clinical practice (which is the lesser part of my work since I prefer research), a hardazz who doesn't suffer a litany of irresponsible excuse-making very well.

Fix them a plate of cookies and give them chocolate/white milk which ever they prefer, continue with my passive discipline and reaffirm them it okay to make a mistake(Oh I forgot I am not Miles).
Screw that bench them during the bowl game it sends a clear message that ignorance will not be tolerated.

If Les would've declined the holding penalty after the reversal it would've been 3rd and long, the next pass was knocked down and it would've been 4th down and they punt. Instead we take the peanlty and give them an extra down and thn we get the PF call on Johnson, our defense would not even have been on the field, they wouldve punted. The kid made a bonehead mistake, but if you think rationally, he shouldn't have been on the field. By the way, if Colt David had made an earlier field goal, we win by two. Why aren't you people jumping on him, the blame goes t everyone.....except Lee this time.....hahahaha!!!!!!!

they are not the problem, just a symptom of the problem, a new DC and change in the whole culture is needed with accoutability
