Question to the rant (before I start posting here more often)

I have lurked here since my college days for about the last 5 or 6 years just reading the melt downs and ridiculous opinions people have on different topics. I was raised a Texas fan, ended up at LSU and have been a die hard ever since.
I have learned a few things about posting here but I wanted to get some opinions on what to stay away from.
What I have learned:
1. No matter how logical your opinion may be, you are wrong.
2. Sometimes its better to sit on your hands and not respond to the hundreds of troll attempts every day.
3. aTm fans are still the most annoying fan base in the country. And texag7...... This dude is quite possibly retarded.
That being said. Are there any suggestions out there as to conduct yourself when posting?
