So my daughter is 6 and I want to take her to her first LSU football game (probably the GS opener). That said, she is allergic to peanuts and has to carry around an E Pen.

So I wanted to get the board's take on any possible personal experiences similar and how to maybe guard against possible contact so my daughter can enjoy her first game in Tiger Stadium!

Thank you in advance!

I wouldn’t trust Aramark not to frick anything up food related, so I wouldn’t get anything from the concession stand if I were you.

My advice would be to drink bottled water and bring hand wipes just in case. Let her eat a safe meal before so that she doesn't get hungry.

I have 8-year-old twins with peanut/tree nut allergies. We've never had a problem at Tiger Stadium. One year, I took them to an Astros game. Some peanut dust from the joker next to us flew in the air. It got in their eyes. They got red and puffy. A little benadryl, and they were fine. It's always scary, though. My wife gets super nervous when I bring them--especially to Alex Box.

You have to actually eat the peanut for the allergy to occur.

Why was he a Joker? Did he do it on purpose? The poor guy had know idea that your kids were allergic to peanuts.

Good news on the Tiger Stadium games and I hear ya on the Stros games... it's a shame (unless she grows out of it.. not likely) that she will probably never get to go to an Astros game as a kid...

Thank you for sharing!

And thanks for the advice from the others!

Not true. Some people can have a reaction from the dust

My 13yr old son has a severe peanut allergy and have been going to games since we was 2. Like other posters and said feed before you go bring hand sanitizer ask question at confessions, let people around you know and I in our case have an epi pen

Not actually true. I used to think the peanut allergy thing was ridiculous and overblown until my younger brother was born severely allergic. He’s gotten some sort of therapy to lessen his allergic reaction to it, but if you touched a peanut with your finger and then touched his skin, the spot you touch breaks out with hives. It’s bizarre. The real concern with him at the stadium is all of the dust that whips around in the air—if he inhales it, he goes into anaphylactic shock.

We’ve never had an issue with the food, though, and he’s never had an incident in the stadium. We’re pretty conscientious about keeping him away from peanuts. But he is a teenager now and his allergy has been lessened. It was more worrisome when he was younger.

OP, I know you’ll keep an eye on your child, so you should be ok. Just be sure to keep your Eli pen with you.

Brought my twins to the Box. No problems. Had wipes Benadryl and e pins. Dr said Benadryl should do the trick for non oral contact.

I've taken my son to a few LSU games. The only problem we ever had was when he ate a slice of pizza and he had an allergic reaction. Not from the pizza per say, the individual handling the pizza was also handling peanuts. I specifically asked is she had touch peanuts and she said no. Benadryl was on hand as well as epipen but it was still scary.

A little myth to peanut allergy- peanut oil does not contain the protein that causes it.

My son has a peanut allergy. There are new techniques, similar to allergy shots, which can help reduce or even cure the allergy.

That’s still in test stages. I think you have to be a certain age to be “tested”

That’s what we were told last week at the Dr.
