Alt26 posts.....I doubt Iowa folks pay as much as LSU fans simply because CFB likely isn't as popular up there as it is in the South.

Are you kidding? You Southern folk need to get over yourselves. Your fans are no less rabid than Midwest fans. Come on up to a Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska or Michigan game.

It amazes me how a team that has taken a back door to Bama lately can still spew such crap.

A season ticket at Iowa this year was $388 per seat. There is a per seat contribution that counts towards parking levels, depending on how much you contribute. Parking otherwise is $100 for the season for a car $300 for an RV (aside from the donation). Chairbacks can be rented for $45 per seat for the season. The chart below shows the per seat contribution needed to get in the respective zone. I would guess there are about 15-20,000 seats available that don't require a gift to sit there.

it's not just the ticket prices, but the treatment of the fans at all levels...

look at next year's schedule as a good example...we start with Wisconsin at Reliant!!!!

throw in the traffic and parking problems, people are just plain getting pissed off...

when there are big time TAF members who are missing their first LSU bowl in twenty or thirty years, there is a problem...
You're only going to insult LSU Fans/Alums so long and so much before there is an uprising of revolt!

This past 2013 season, Jeaux boy moved the Home + Home with TCU to a one time at Jerry World, (Dallas TEXAS) then spewed out UAB, Kent.State and Furman in Tiger Stadium.

In 2014, we got Wisconsin at Reliant, (Houston TEXAS) then Sam Houston St, UL-M and New Mexico St. in Tiger Stadium.

Let's go back a few years for those with short memories.

In 2009, we opened with Washington in Sasquatch Country WASHINGTON, then had U.S.L., Tulane and La.Tech at home.

In 2010, we opened up with North Carolina in Atlanta GEORGIA at the Chicken Dome and then West Virginia, McNeese and Louisiana-Monroe in TS.

In 2011, Jerry World in Dallas TEXAS hosted the Tigers opening up the season with Oregon, followed by Northwestern State (NW Louisiana) and Western Kentucky at home.

In 2012, the rapidly declining atmosphere crowd in Tiger Stadium was witness to North Texas, Washington, Idaho and Towson.St.

So in six years, we have seen TWO respectable OOC teams play in Tiger Stadium. (Washington and West Virginia) That's unacceptable!

Add to this, the increasingly irritating chore of traveling to the stadium and finding a parking spot, combined with too many day games and the declining stadium atmosphere (Growing % of corporate "Cheeser" people that don't make any noise, leave early and really could care less about LSU football, annoying piped in music, declining quality of Tiger Band half-time shows) and many LSU fans have just about reached the point of no return and are saying "F it, I'm done" as far as season tickets go. Been there, done that. The thrill is gone.

See yall at the CBS Prime-Time Alabama night game next season. (Or any of the other SEC games that might be lucky enough to make it past the Vampire Killers)

I look at most of life through the lens of logistics...Alleva is absolutely, positively, NOT a logistician and understands NOTHING about the concepts involved in moving 150K people in a limited time window...

now, to put on my LTC Butch hat of 1998, there are three basic concepts:

Basing-in this case Tiger Stadium and surronding environs, somewhere around 100K plus in the stadium with new South End and maybe another 50K in the campus area

Beddown-parking (which includes mass-transit options to get onto campus), RV and tailgate locations...maybe it's time to start charging to set up on the parade grounds and charge to reserve spots to tailgate on central campus, this would also finance trash pickup during the day something like what happens in NOLA downtown during Mardi Gras...charge $10-a vehicle just to enter campus and do away with the $40 parking...

Overflight-getting in and out, routing for maximum traffic flow and efficency

YOU DON'T DO THIS IN A VACUUM!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS LOUISIANA WE'RE TALKING ABOUT, THE STATE POLICE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT UNDERSTAND VERY WELL HOW TO DO CONTRAFLOW!!!

YOU'D BE AMAZED WHAT EXPERTISE EXISTS LOCALLY!!!

interesting...seems like your regular stadium seating is cheaper, but your high end stuff is more expensive...

This can easily be fixed. Get rid of the antiquated bowl system and move to a full playoff (i.e. more that just 4 teams). Bowl games are nothing more than glorified exhibition games, and their popularity is waning each year. Teams don't want to play LSU in BR because right now, one loss could end your chances for a NC. The risk of a potential loss far outweighs the reward of a win. If you have a full playoff system you will see several BCS teams become much more willing to play one another. Why? Because one loss doesn't severely damage your NC chances, and the reward of beating a good BCS team will substantially increase your chances of making the playoffs. It why you see a team like Kentucky be willing to play Mich. St., UNC, Duke, Louisville in the college basketball regular season.

any crack downs on festivities around stadium?

I heard that they've done a lot in Iowa City that have tamped down the atmosphere over the last few years. Kicking out vendors, restrictions on activites in parking lots. Early exits required following night games..etc

I hope you are one of those fans. I really wish every single one of you who bitch about parking, ticket prices, and traveling to games where LSU gets national exposure in different markets to better the program would lose their tickets.

ticket prices aren't a big factor as I understand that LSU is in the middle of the SEC as far as that's concerned...

what's made me into a total Alleva basher is the mismanagement of game day parking...you get to the Florida game over 3 hours before kickoff and are willing to pay the $40- to park on campus only to get told that the area is closed off...then as you walk across campus you see parking places all over!!!!

Last year I spoke at length with a TAF employee who claimed to be in the know. He said we play and will continue to play neuitral site games because:

1. Coach Miles and the players continue to ask for them and enjoy them a lot. Playing games in Cowboys Stadium and the GA Dome and Lambeau is a big draw for the kids and for recruiting the staff says.
2. We make much more $$$ over a 2-year span with 2 neutral site games than we would with a home-and-home. That amount was in the millions not thousands. He said LSU netted almost $5.7 million from the 2010 ATL game and the 2011 Arlington game. In that span, we would have netted less than $3 million with a home and home.

There are some mandatory donations involved not spelled out above.

A box starts at about $80K.

We donated $7,500 a year for seats and parking. Kinnick Society. Next year there is a $10,000 level. Didn't donate last year, and got single game tickets for every game I wanted. Worst seats were on the 45. I have an ongoing relationship with the U of I though, so not sure how this works for others.

If you sit between the 40's, I'm guessing you don't do this for less than $3K - $5k a year. Others would know better.

Iowa football is the only game in town. Really, the only game in the state. It is not cheap.

There is a point system, and some other stuff, but it gets down to cash, and what have you done for me lately.

You give enough, and you have dinner with KF on a regular basis. That I know factually. I had a death in the family last winter. We made a gift. I got a call. I know one other guy that gets call from KF all the time. He is significantly above my level. AS I said, I didn't donate last year, and don't plan on it, so long as I keep getting good seats with a telephone call.
