Been watching this debate go down on an OM rivals board about Ole Miss baseball players being seen out at bars the nights before games.

If you were to see LSU baseball players at a bar the night before an SEC matchup, how would you feel about it?

OM fans seem to be split. Some care, some don't.

It's baseball. As long as the starting pitcher isn't out drinking the night before, it doesn't really matter IMO.

Football is a different story ... that's a little harder to play well hungover.

All that said, IF I was the coach, no players could be out the night before a game. Save that stuff for the offseason.

if i saw an LSU player at a bar the night before a game it would be no big deal. if i saw an om player at a bar the night before the game he would considered a thug

This was a big issue for the LSU team during the last 2 years of Smoke's tenure as HC of LSU. It didn't go over well with most of the fans on this site, but of course they weren't playing well either.

Ole Miss is a top 15 team right now, so as long as its not affecting their play then no big deal.

Yeah they are drinking but I agree, as long as it not the starting pitcher or a commonly used reliever its NOT that big of a deal IMO.

I would have a big problem with it. In season = no bar hopping. Sorry.

Offseason, fine. Live a little. In season, forget it.

This happened during Smoke's tenure quite a bit. I am against going out the night before the game, but not if they want to grab some drinks after a mid week game.

Yes, I agree - I would much rather them drink at frat houses or by themselves in their dorm rooms.

If it's good enough for Babe Ruth, it's good enough for college baseball

I still remember seeing Jeff Leaumont passed out at his own party the night before a game. The next day he went 4-4 with a HR and GSlam. Remember it's COLLEGE

As a fan i would prefer them getting rested and ready for the game, but they are college kids so they are going to go out.

In 1966 Green Bay Packer's wide receiver Max McGee played in Super Bowl I and spent the night before the game getting hammered drunk down Bourbon St. Also, he scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl history

baseball players go out every night, get hammered, and play the next day... some of their better performances are when they are "still drunk"

saw the baseball team out at the varsity on a saturday night. they brought out the visiting team even though they had a game the next day.

none seemed drunk, just having fun.

happens all the time.. they know people on every team because they all grew up playing against/with each other.

That or the sorority girls will pick the visiting guys up at the hotel and take them out
