Don't care the least. I don't pull for the SEC.

No it isn't. I don't know if you went to LSU, but I can understand why sidewalk fans don't get this. LSU alumni inevitably develop professional and personal relationships with other SEC alumni, especially in "foreign" territory, and the pride we have in our school is something that is shared as a collective pride with the alumni of other schools in the conference.

And, on a purely football perspective, not a soul on this board REALLY doesn't use the "SEC Pride" thing.

If we could dig up threads from ANY time in the past when LSU has been in the running for something and was being compared to a school from outside the SEC, you could reliably find that 99.99999% of the posters in here would be using the power of the SEC as a primary argument for why LSU was deserving.

We sure love that SEC pride/power thing when we can use it to argue in our favor.

If some time down the road, the other conferences have the upper hand and we lose out on a playoff spot because someone says, "well, the $%^& conference had a tougher schedule", we'll all suddenly know the value of SEC pride.

Right now, we have the luxury of being able to act like we don't care precisely because it's always been there.

nope. With the new playoff format, it's not nearly as important than in the past. With only two teams competing, you almost had to root for the division or conference to play well outside of against LSU. With four teams now in the mix, as long as we win the SEC, then we should be in the playoff. I don't care about the others and bama can never lose enough.

Really? You don't think conference power came into play for the 4th seed?

Not at all

Seeing bama lose and watching their fanbase unravel is always a good time

Despite the "fall" SEC has 7 bowl wins, which is more than any other conference.
