What if you found out your boss wanted you gone? And half of your customers, while they may like your personality, also wish that you would be replaced? And for your troubles, you would get 3.5 times your current salary for leaving? And you could get a job in the same industry right away if you wanted?

What would you do?

Sometimes it's not about the money.

Head coach's egos are out of this world. It is hard to comprehend. My grandfather coached at a high level. He was great, but one of the most arrogant people ive even known.

Misinterpret my dignified send off as blind support and turn it into an extended contract and hefty raise from my boss who neutered himself publicly and has no power to enforce anything I may have agreed to on my way down the hall to leave work for the day

If I loved my job, I would keep working until they fired me.

I think you are insinuating that Les should quit his job at LSU, take $15M and go work somewhere else. It doesn't work this way.

Your boss must terminate your contract prior to having any shot at the buyout money.

If Miles were to accept the buyout, I am sure that means he can't coach until the buyout term is complete (ex. Applewhite sat out 2014 because he accepted the 1 year buyout offered to Mack Brown's staff at UT).

Give me the pink slip and a check.

Now when you're talking numbers like Miles.....it gets even easier to make that call.

Let's say you gross 100k/year, a good living by anyones standards in LA. It would take you 50 years to gross what Miles makes in a year with his salary and endorsements.

Because you love the people that work for you, your family is happy in this market, and the specific product your company has is more popular than where you would end up working?

Do you even know how the buyout of his contract works? You're showing your ignorance here.

This is true of the Rant. Based on other social media, the call in shows, and the reaction of crowd in the stadium last night, it is not true of the fan base as a whole. The response to Miles' retention is overwhelmingly positive everywhere except here. The Rant is every bit as out of touch as the Poliboard was when they were predicting an Vitter win.

Bro you don't get the buyout if you break the contract. What are you smoking?
