Jamal Adams Swagger
Jets fans were pretty hard on his tipping ability. But I believe that will all change when he starts playing in the upcoming season.

Q: Somebody referred to you as the “Money Badger.”
A: (Laugh) I don’t know why they would call me the Money Badger. I’m really cheap.
Q: How are you cheap?
A: I mean I’m just quality over quantity. I got that from my mother. I don’t spend on dumb things.
Q: On dumb things?
A: Yeah there’s a lot of people that spend money on crazy, wild things that just make no sense. I’m just blessed with the opportunity to be here, taking care of my family and just doing the right things.

They should call him Jamal "The Jet" Adams. He doesn't need to piggyback on Tyrann's gig.

Q: Tell me about your first tab.
A: California Pizza (chuckle). Took care of that tab.
Q: For how many people?
A: I think it was a total of six. Q: So what did that cost you?
A: It was like … $125.
Q: And it probably killed you, right?
A: Yeah it did. It hurt me. It really did (laugh).
Q: Are you a lousy tipper too?
A: No, no, no, I’m a great tipper. Gave her 15 dollars, so at the end of the day it hit me.
12%

That's terrible! $15 on $125 as a multi millionaire

Jamal hasn't quite grasp the other zeros on his first check. Give him time and it will all but sink in.

Love this - I'm glad Jamal won't be broke in 30 years. Also that tip is fine; it shows he doesn't think of himself as rich, which is how you stay rich.

Most servers make $2.13 an hour which doesnt even cover your taxes so your paycheck is literally 0$.
I 100% agree with your reasoning and am happy to see someone of his age in his position being reasonable with their new found wealth. But if servers made 12% tips across the board they could not make a living.
Im not saying since he has millions he should be dropping 100$ tips no matter what, that is ridiculous. But would a reasonable 20% tip (25ish$ on 125.00) be that hard?
To each his own its their money, but as a Restaurant owner it pains me to see my servers give good service and receive a 12% tip.
All that aside, Jamal was one of my favorite Tigers of the last few decades. Dude was fun to watch on and off the field and will be a great LSU ambassador.

Still love Jamal.
* Parents need to teach kids how to write checks, pay bills, balance a checkbook, and tip properly like the old days, just saying.
I'm in my late 20s for what it's worth and I learned at a young age, started paying for everything when I turned 18.

Yea not going to start debating this on a message board for a College Football team.
There are a whole multitude of factors that would go into this. But please don't assume how to run someone's business without knowing a single thing about it. That is just a juvenile way of thinking.

"Oh no, I'm a great tipper. I tipped her $15 on a $125 tab."
Definitely cheap.

paying 125 dollars for pizza and tipping like an a-hole doesnt keep you rich

It was a pizza joint. Do you tip 20% at fast food restaurants? Do you tip at drive throughs?
Posted on 5/8/17 at 6:28 pm to wildtigercat93
maybe the service sucked? You don't know one way or the other. It pisses me off that a server thinks they are entitled to 20-25%. If they do their job and serve the table well, then tip em 20%, if they suck....10% is all they getting

Read his quote. He was bragging about leaving 15 dollars because he thought that was an awesome tip. That was the high end of his scale, he clearly didnt have a problem with the service

The comments on that article quickly devolved into OT level thread about tipping
