Victor may be lower then bench 3. Overhyped
Averaged 2 points a game at Arizona last year.

I agree that the hype might be too much, but not because of his stats in 8 games at Arizona. What bigs do you think will play ahead of him?

LSU isn't going to have a "center" in the usual sense of the word. They'll have two forwards when Victor is eligible. Assuming he won't be eligible to start the season, I think Malone, buy default, gets the frontcourt spot next to Simmons. I'd love for it to be Robinson, but he had a LONG way to go from last season. My guess to start game one:

G - Gray (though I could see Blakeney here as well)
G - Hornsby
G/F - Quarterman
F - Simmons
F - Malone

Epps instead of Malone would certainly make LSU more athletic, but the concern is that opponents would make it a half-court game and just destroy LSU inside.

How much does default usually go for in this market?

He was behind players like Stanley Johnson, Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Brandon Ashley, and Caleb Tarczewski. If he would've come here he would've been the first big off the bench. His minutes and points were increasing when he left. And he averaged 3 points a game frickboy.

If people expect him to be Jordon Mickey? Sure. If he's a guy that you expect can give you more than any of LSU's other frontcourt options next to Simmons, then no way is he overhyped.

It's not like he was struggling to get playing time as a Freshman at UNO. He was struggling to get playing time on one of the best teams and rosters in the country. LSU shouldn't need him to be a big scorer next year. They need him to defend and rebound. If he can get 6-8ppg and 7-8rpg, along with making it tough to score inside, then he has more than done his job.

Yeah, I've noticed it is pretty popular to roast Victor, based on the fact he was a bench player at a ridiculously loaded blue blood. The Arizona boards really liked him and were confident he'd be a great 3-4 year guy for them.

also haven't there been a decent bit of reports that victor has looked really good in practice?

Seems safe to say LSU is going to run with multiple lineups with its guard depth and questions in the post

Patterson
Hornsby
Quarterman
Simmons
Victor

Blakeney
Gray
Epps
Big Elbert
eta: Bridgewater
...Malone

A smaller yet very athletic and fast lineup

Epps is listed at 6'9". Is the consensus on here that is close to accurate. I thought he was much shorter--like Bridgewater's size.

I think you see Quarterman run the point a lot, with Blakeney and Hornsby as the wings. Simmons and Victor in the post. Although I think Simmons is more of a wing player than a post player. You could also see a lineup Patterson at point, with Simmons and Hornsby on the wings, with Victor and Robinson/Malone in the post. Having Gray come off the bench primarily as a scorer and penetrator, works out well for us (and him). Epps and Bridgewater will add some nice depth. Should see a rotation of 9 to 10 guys on a regular basis.

i think he's going to get his deserved time, but I at those who think Hornsby is just going to ride the pine because blakeney is a great talent

I like this a lot and probably the most accurate projection. When do we start the Australian tour?
