Tie between LSU, Florida and USC with next season being the tie breaker.

This shitty season for LSU puts Fla ahead...

LSU will need one more ring to get it

I would say you have to go by BCS trophies

#1LSU 90-27
#2Florda 86-?

Lsu has more wins and more sec titles I believe in the decade, but I could be wrong.

LSU is 90-24 2 BCSNC
Fl is 87-27 2 BCSNC

next year will be the tiebreaker because we are both pretty much even now

between florida and lsu, they each have a pair of crystal balls and they get it done in the sec

usc has one ball and beats up on second tier pac-10 teams

I think it is a toss up between LSU and Florida. A national championship for either of those teams or USC in the next two years will most likely decide it for me.

Also, not to flame, did anyone else see on the fox sports post game scroll that "FLORIDA: FIRST TEAM TO WIN TWO BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS[WON 2007" then cut off.

OSU and Oklahoma should be ahead of Texas, IMO.

Still have a year to decide it, or two...depending if we're goin 2000-2009 or 2001-2010....

Two nat'l titles apiece...3 conference titles apiece if you count Florida's 2000 title...

Crappy years:
FLA: 2002-2004, 2007
LSU: 2000 (lost to UAB), 2002 (5 losses w/ bowl), 2008

This is as close as it gets, with next year making the difference, and with Florida's likely top preseason ranking, they have the early edge, but that's why you play the game...

Gators, see you in Death Valley on Oct. 10th!

Before this season, I would've gone with LSU. Now, it's clearly USC.

I would think that UF and LSU would be the top 2. The early part of the decade with the Zooker probably hurts Florida. But with 4 NC between them, it would be tough to argue.

By the way, in post game stuff, it really ticked me off that they kept talking about coaches with 2 national championships and they kept talking about Pete Carrol and USC. I think that is a load of CRAP! We all know where the crystal ball is located for 2003

USC has two titles regardless of how much people here would like to believe they don't. If LSU was screwed as badly as USC was in 03, we'd bitch and say we had two titles as well.

Since 2002, these are LSU and USC's records:

LSU USC
02 8-5 11-2
03 13-1 12-1
04 9-3 13-0
05 11-2 12-1
06 11-2 11-2
07 12-2 11-2
08 8-5 12-1

We're 72-20
They're 82-9

We have two SEC titles
They have 7 Pac-10 titles

We have two NC's
They have two NC's

They have three Heisman winners
We have zero Heisman winners

You can bring up conference strength or whatever, but that all goes out the window when they have a substantially better resume.

Don't let the Zook years be forgotten at Florida. They had some VERY average 7-5, 8-4 teams for a 2-3 year stretch. A small stretch of mediocrity, but for a debate on just 8 years, cannot be forgotten.

I would rank it;

1) USC; 1 NC, 7 Pac-10 titles, 5 Rose Bowl Wins, Orange Bowl win
2) LSU; 2 NCs, 3 SEC titles, 4 Sugar Bowl Wins
3) Oklahoma; 1 NC, 4 NC game appearances, 4 Big 12 titles, 3-time Fiesta Bowl participant
4) Florida; 2 NCs, 2 SEC titles, 1 Orange Bowl
5) Ohio St.; 1 NC, 3 NC game appearances, 5 Big 10 titles, 3-time Rose Bowl participant
6) Texas; 1 NC, 2-time Big 12 winner, Rose Bowl win, Fiesta Bowl win

you just threw out an SEC title for LSU and two shitty seasons for USC.

If you take the WHOLE DECADE it's alot closer. But yeah, its USC

Then Fla and LSU are about equal.

people forget the Zook years, we're still ahead of Florida. USC is #1 though.

I didn't throw it out, I just started where both were consistently relevant. I also threw out a shitty 00 season for LSU.

Oh c'mon. Put USC in the SEC from 02-08 and they never go 8-5.

then why don't you start in 03?

there's no arguing that USC is the team of the decade, but it's alot closer than you're making it look IMO.

USC has a losing season this decade. Something you can't say about LSU.

USCs two worst seasons are worse than LSU's two worst seasons.

USC, program of the decade...easily. 7 conference titles is in no way, shape, or form easy.

LSU and Florida are tied at 2nd.

2nd tier teams are Ohio State, OU, & Texas.

Let's discuss this after next season. As of right now:

1. USC
2. TIE: LSU/UF
3. Oklahoma
4. Texas
