I would prefer a cancellation to a postponement. They need that open date.

Sincerely,

The 2005 LSU Tigers.

The U Miami game years ago had a storm during it that WAS A BAD ASSED sob. They had to stop play for a while as practically the entire field was invisible.

I could live with that. Either way - Sat or Sun, if the grounds are that soggy, parking will really be at a premium.

From I've been hearing, moving it to the open date isn't a viable option.

No chance at being cancelled. I'm looking at the
forecast for Saturday night and it says slight chance
of shower with a low around 73

I was at that Miami game, the wind was so strong it blew down one of the SEC flag poles in the south endzone. It hit a man sitting several rows down from us on the shoulder. And of course LSU got raped 44-3.

Dude. The cancellation wouldn't be because of what the weather was going to do on Saturday.

the weather at the time of the game will be splendid.

by Saturday, the storm will be tornadoes and thunderstorms in the northeast or even The Maritimes, Canada.

all manner of spectacularly bad stuff may yet occur.
if it does, the game will be postponed in a show of solidarity.

I would like to experience a game in Tiger Stadium under 2 conditions:

Snowstorm

Tropical Storm (South Carolina did it one year I believe).

Why would it be cancelled then?

The implication would be the potential for a damaging storm such as this to disrupt state and local infrastructure, causing the game to be cancelled/postponed for reasons, that while related to a weather event, unrelated to the actual weather conditions on Saturday.

I can agree with that, but the expectation of some that this game will be at all affected by the weather is a little dramatic. Hurricane season is during football season. They've coincided for about 100 yrs. The field may be wet. Unless the city of New Orleans is 8' underwater, this game will not be affected.
