Ole Miss, Vandy and Arkansas are all 5-5. And we have 8 games left in SEC play. So it's kind of hard to say who are bottom dwellers when there are 7 teams within a game of each other and 8 games to go for each. We've done a good job of beating the teams in front of us. Not sure why bfnii can't just acknowledge we're in great shape.

I knew that they were all tied but I didn't even need to note that to prove that his argument is wrong once again. But he will come back and somehow say that he wasn't wrong because after all he is a moron.

IMO, this game will be a good barometer to tell us just how good LSU is. South Carolina is not a "great" team, but they appear to be a bad matchup for LSU. South Carolina is much like UF and A&M in terms of their style of play. They want to grind the game out on defense in the half court. LSU has played 6 teams ranked in the top-30 of defensive efficiency (UF, A&M, CoC, Vandy, UGA, OU). They are 2-4 in those games; 1-3 on the road. Unfortunately, USC hasn't lost yet at home.

A&M, UK, UF may have higher RPIs, but I don't think it's hyperbole to say that a win tomorrow night, ON THE ROAD, would be LSU's biggest win of the season

I really hope I'm wrong, but I think people are underestimating USC around here
I think the fact that they went into College Station where we were beaten pretty convincingly, and won....that should be enough for everyone.

they will get the benefit of more "crucial" calls.
I think you have to go into any road game expecting you will be on the short end of the calls and be ready to adapt and overcome. If the refs are in our head before the game starts that's two strikes already.

The refs are in my mind before this game but I'm not a player. We are a better team than South Carolina but this game is being played at South Carolina where they are undefeated. Also my other concern is that over the years, the SEC officials have proven that they allow physical teams to be even more physical at home. We can say that we need to adapt and overcome all we want but if Ben and/or Victor get into foul trouble then we don't have much post depth to adapt with. Epps and Elbert cannot rebound with South Carolina.

But don't worry by tomorrow morning I'll have talked myself into us winning.

I honestly think that we win by a good margin. This team has been playing top notch basketball!

Ha! yes, they are always in the fans head, I was of course referring to the players.

I think you find another way to play. Ben and four guards was a good adaption a few weeks when Victor was if foul trouble. If they both are maybe put Epps in and do some pressing force turnovers, early shots that give us a better chance at boarding maybe? Just throwing ideas cause foul trouble going to be an issue more games than not with us. Need to find a way to adapt better, like we did with Ben and the four guards that one game.

Is Bridgewater able to play? This could be a good spot for him to get minutes.

I don't think Bridgewater is an answer. At least not for tomorrow night. They are 10th in the nation in rebounding. They have length inside and on the perimeter. If we have to rely on Epps, Elbert, Darcy or Bridgewater for extended minutes then I think we are in trouble. I do like Tiger Ugly's idea of if we have to turn to Epps then we press more and try and force turnovers. That may be our only option if we end up in foul trouble. Our other option is to go 4 guards but I worry about their length. Pressing them would definitely get them out of their comfort zone, they are going to want to grind this game in the half court.

Yep, beating a team that hasn't lost at home the entire season will be the barometer.

I am looking for the win tomorrow, but there shouldn't be a melt if we don't.

This would be great, but it's unrealistic to expect that from the Rant. People start threads saying we have no shot at the NCAAT after every loss, including to the then #1 team in the country by 2 points. Expect more of the same if tomorrow goes badly.

I'm hyped brothers.

I know Souf Cack is tough at home but I think tonight we make a STATEMENT, just like we did vs. Vandy.

We're done fricking around. No more half measures.
