Last night on the SECN they had the LSU FPI predictions. Lowest probabablity to win was 51% against Bama, and 78% to beat Auburn. I thought Auburn was picked to win the west, and we were supposed to go 7-5 according to some??

Seems like they're all over the board this year. Heard McElroy praise Brandon Harris on one show, even picking him as backup qb on his SEC all star team, and then he says our qb production will keep us down.

Will be glad when the season starts and the truth starts to come out.

Analysts cover as many bases as they can, it's what they do.

So when one person says one thing they can tweet back that time they said "this".

It's the first time in a long time where there is only 1 team that is a known commodity and that's tOSU. Everyone else has major question marks. It should make for a very enjoyable season.

LSU doesn't have major questions. This is one of the, if not THE most talented team LSU has ever had...in terms of the number of future draft picks on the current roster. Brandon Harris is a major talent, and was one of the highest ranked qb's out of highschool and could have gone anywhere. He wasn't ready last year...doesn't mean we have major problems this year at QB. LSU will have one of the best offenses in the SEC this year. People are failing to realize that LSU likely will have 9-10 future NFL players starting on offense....with several that are very highly regarded. Some of the good analysts actually understand this. The rest of college football will understand it soon, as well.

I see this as a boom or bust type season.

Everything comes together for at least 11 wins in the regular season ....or QB play remains a weakness, early losses to MSU and auburn happen, depth concerns on defense creep up, and it's 7-5.

I have no idea either with this team really. I feel confident the Tigers will win the OOC games. I feel confident that the RBs and DBs will be good with depth. The OL and TEs should be better or at least equal to last year. The WRs are talented and should be better.I'm not very worried about STs if Colby gets back to form.

I'm encouraged by reports on Harris. I'm worried about the DEs and the depth at DT and LB. I'm worried about Steele. I see him and O has definite upgrades in recruiting, but like Guice, Jackson, and many other new players, I want to see Steele in action.

LSU is in the SEC west, a brutal division. At the same time it looks like all 8 of the SEC opponents on the schedule have many question marks as well.

Some of these teams will do better and some will do worse than expectations. This is an interesting year to say the least. I sincerely believe that the 2015 Tigers are a better team than the 2014 Tigers. How much better remains to be seen and much of this is on Brandon. God bless him!

Uhhhh, yes they do. New starting QB, new DC that has been bad everywhere he's been, ultra thin on the DL and 1 legit SEC LB on the depth chart.

We can't really afford many injuries, but to say we only have 1 legit SEC LB on roster is asanine.

Feist, Lewis and Riley will almost be nonexistent this year unless Steele is a fricking Jedi. Our best chance other than Beckwith is Debo. That's just the hand we've been dealt with Chavis' shitty LB recruiting. All 3 star guys except for Lewis. He was a 4 star. We're so freaking thin there it's not even funny anymore.

I have to agree with Kennesaw on this. I think one could be outstanding and three have shown some promise, 2 Srs and a JR, none of which red shirted. After that I understand none of us have seen much from the 4 other LBs.

Just curious...what were the predictions for us before the 2011 season? top 10?

We were top 5 in 2011.

If Alabama's or Auburn's OLBs were Riley, Debo and Feist, we would be saying they were weak at OLB.

If Ole Miss had our DEs, we'd say they are unproven.

If Arkansas had our QB situation we'd say prett much the same thing about Jennings as we say now about Jennings but we would be very skeptical that Harris would be legit since he couldn't unseat Jennings last year and looked completely overwhelmed against Auburn.

So have a little objectivity here. On paper we have some weaknesses in some very important areas.

pretty much every prediction is based on last years team(s). of course, college football teams change, sometimes radically, EVERY YEAR.

I have done well using returning OL and QB's. teams with new lines and new qb's usually struggle and vice versa.
