Man, Miami just snuck in there. They weren't on anyone's list two weeks ago.
Thats what 27 out of the last 30 will do for you. They cleaned up against the weaker teams in their league. Also had a good series against Florida early.

It's amazing how many teams have 10-15 losses. There's a huge bunch up there which is why I'm not expecting anything good for LSU out of the committee. There's not telling which direction they go and what they look at.

My thinking is with some of the other posters in that it's too easy to just throw us in ULL's regional as a 2.
Alot of host sites will be in a pretty concentrated area. If its close between us and Louisville they might go with them just to spread it out a bit.
I remember looking back and it seemed like the years that UF, UGA, GT, Mia, and FSU were all up there someone always got left out of hosting. Maybe that was to spread it out.

And yet they are #12 in the rpi rankings as the ACC regular season champion. Maybe if they win the conference tournament they get it, but right now, they are on the outside looking in.
No

I really don't have a reason for Florida, Miami, and FSU not being Nat. seeds. Florida is a top RPI along with FSU who has played a million games vs. the top 25. And you're right about Miami and how hot they've been late. It just seems counter-intuitive to what the committee is looking to do.

I don't smoke and the ACC champion is the tournament winner, not a divisional winner. Miami's 6 conference losses are against the teams they will have to play to get the championship, Georgia Tech (2) and either Virginia or Florida State (2 each).

So LSU should get rid of all those conference championship signs and merchandise?

Last regional projections I saw had Miami hosting but not a national seed and paired with the Gainesville regional. Also had lsu hosting and paired with the Houston regional.
They're just projections, so their guess is just as good as ours.

You think a tournament title is more impressive than a regular season title?

I think you'll see them as a top 8 in new projections. They won the ACC by 2 games.
